February 2014 Marikana: again the miners stand up

The fight of the mine worker of South Africa stand up again, together with the heroic strike if the Korean workers, they reach as new air for the world working class. The heroic miners of Marikana are condemned to live in sharks without water, neither electrical power or toilets and they produce most of the platinum wealth of the world. Again the miners

went on strike in the platinum belt in South Africa, the miners of the most plunders of miners and natural resources in Africa, Anglo American Platinum (Amplats), Impala Platinum y Lonmin Platinum On Jan 22, 80,000 mine workers of South of Africa went on strike with their powerful picket at the war cry of R12.500 now, and they prove that they will not give up until they get their demands. With the assembly and direct democracy methods, the miners vote day per day whether the strike continues or not and AMCU delegates, who are vote to participate in the talks with the bosses and the government (represented by Commission of Control o Mandatory arbitration CCMA), do not decide unless it is voted through an assembly at the doors of the mine. Long live the worker democracy of the South African mine workers! This is the way to fight! The bourgeoisie media, representing the transnational companies, show clearly THE THREAT and they say: they paralyze half of the world metal production. The managers of these 3 companies said that the working demands are impossible and no realistic and they warm that the industry cannot allow any new lost in the production and employment. The mine workers take the path of 2012 again This time it must win! The workers organized in AMCU, current mine union in the region; voted to call the strike despite and against the bureaucracy of NUM-COSATU, who is openly allied to the ANC government. This bureaucracy of NUM in 2012 sent their gangs with the private security of the company to attack the strike workers who defende themselves heroically and the defeat the gangs keeping the strike on. At that time it was the COSATU bureaucracy who called order, and the government answered with a slaughter at the hand of the police shooting 34 strike mine workers. The bosses, as a consequence of the fight of the heroic mine workers, had to increase the wages to 12.500R. But as soon as it could it did not hesitate to dismiss workers and down the wages. In 2012, it was the bureaucracy of NUM with the government and the bosses the responsible ones of the death of 34 miners. We cannot allow this again. The demand of the mine workers for 12.500R is the demands of all the workers of South Africa, Zimbabwe, Lessoto, Bostwana and the entire South of Africa.

Facing the current strike, the last negotiation of Jan 29, the bosses offered a plan to increase the wages in three years, which are just crumbs against the 300% increase that the workers being right demand. The bosses and the transnational companies with this offer and taking us to the negotiation, they want to stop our strike and disorganize the fight. For the moment, the strike is in a legal framework, but we have experience of what the bosses with the government of ANC, followers of Apartheid, prepare for the workers fighting: repression, death and inhuman condition for the exploited. In order to prevent the siege of the bosses and their negotiation tables, the workers need to set up again their war committee but this time to success. This should work as real coordination committees, as a real body of theworker power of all the exploited in South of Africa, imposing their demands in a fight against the transnational companies, imperialism and the lackey government of ANC and Zuma in South Africa, supporter by the CP who in 2012 try to defeat the strike with blows. But they did not make it. There is the key to win: in the war cry of the miners who call all the workers of South Africa and the world who are exploited by the Anglo American and other imperialist mine companies to unify the fight. The current strike, as the one in 2012 posed the historical mark for the world working class, they defeat, with the war committees, the treacherous leaders of NUM-COSATU-CP For that reason the fight of the workers of South of Africa and the Korean working class is the way forward to break with the chains with the parasites of Wall Street who try to strangle the exploited of the world. They show the way forward! The entire worker movement must stand up; lets get the demand of R12.500, for all now! Sliding scale of wages and hour shift! For the strike of the miners to spread at a national level and in the entire south of the continent! It is the same demand for the workers of Zimbabwe, Lesoto, Bostwana and the entire south of the continent. Open the road to the miners and their pickets!
