Introduction
Environmental studies is the interdisciplinary academic field which systematically studies human interaction with the environment in the interests of solving complex problems. It is a broad field of study that includes also the natural environment and the sets of relationships between them.

Causes
i) Decrease in soil fertility because of addition of some foreign elements is called soil pollution. The process of soil formation is slow and thus soil is non renewable resource. This fact makes the problem of soil pollution more acute. Domestic wastes: These includes household wastes such as garbages, cloth rags, broken glasses ash etc. Industrial wastes: These include wastes discarded by small scale industries like metal scraps, flash, plastic etc. Agricultural chemical and fertilizers: In this category, we find fungicides, herbicides, pesticides and others which are used to increase productivity. Acid rain: Acid rain is due to air pollution, which in turn causes soil pollution. Biological pathogens: Dumping of human excreta and wastes from cow sheds, etc collute the soil.

Conclusion
Thereby, I would like to conclude that government should conduct more awareness programmes for spreading the knowledge about the effects of usage of plastic bags on the environments, and proper disposal of solid waste material. People should take preventive measures to retard the use of plastic bags and should join hands with the government to make a change on the environment for their own benefit.
