Chaplin lawyer and Former Republican Congressional Candidate, Doug Dubitsky, Declares Candidacy for State Representative in the 47th Assembly District
Chaplin Republican Town Committee Member and CT lawyer, Doug Dubitsky, announced that he will be filing the paperwork to be a candidate for State Representative in the 47th district which includes the towns of: Canterbury, Chaplin, Franklin, Hampton, Lebanon, Lisbon, Norwich, Scotland, and Sprague. I have decided to run for State Representative with the Secretary of State because I believe the people need a voice in government. We need someone that will fight against the tide of those on both sides of the aisle that are expanding government, raising taxes, and ushering in Obamacare in Connecticut. We need to remember that government is by the people, of the people and for the people and not by the lobbyists, of the lobbyists, for the lobbyists, said Dubitsky. Doug Dubitsky is a constitutional conservative that is running for State Representative to restore economic sanity, government to its proper function and give the people a voice in government. There once was a vision that was America. One where people could find freedom, pursue their dreams and ambitions in a free and open market, and I am afraid that we are losing that vision. We in Connecticut and America should not give up on the vision that made America exceptional. I will give everything I have to protect and promote the voice of the people, because its the people that made America great, said Dubitsky who is looking to win the seat now held by the first term Rep. Brian Sear. I am thrilled to have the chance to serve the 47th district as a voice of the people. Over the coming months I will be working hard and reaching out to the voters of the district. I look forward to hearing their stories and concerns. I am eager to learn how I can be their voice in Hartford and I hope to have the support of those in the district and around the state, said Dubitsky. Doug is a former partner at the law firm of Pullman & Comley in Hartford, is licensed to practice law in Connecticut and New York, and now runs his own law practice in North Windham, Connecticut. He was elected to the Chaplin Board of Finance and the Chaplin Planning & Zoning Commission, on which he is currently the vice-chair. Doug was appointed by Governor M. Jodi Rell to the Connecticut Teachers Retirement Board and served for two years. In 2010, Doug ran for the Republican nomination for Congress in Connecticuts 2nd Congressional District. He is a founding member of the revived Grassroots East, where he also sits on the Board of Directors. In 2011, Doug argued before the Connecticut Supreme Court against the Department of Utility Controls imposition of the Competitive Transition Assessment on Connecticut electricity rate-payers (the Skullduggery Tax), and is currently assisting the Connecticut Civilian Defense Leagues legal team in its federal court challenge to the states newly-enacted gun control law. Doug and his wife Maarita have been married for over 20 years, and they are the proud parents of two wonderful, enthusiastic children.
