Sample Abstract Format and Instruction

Organic Geochemistry and Paleoenvironmental Reconstruction of Cretaceous Shales Exposed at Ndiobasi Southern Benue Trough, Nigeria: Implications for Hydrocarbon Potential. OLUWAJANA, O. A. . Department of Geology, University of Port-Harcourt, River State, Nigeria. To help us quickly and accurately process your abstract, please use this format to submit your abstract. Your abstract will appear in the Technical Session Abstract Book EXACTLY the way you submit it. There will be absolutely NO EDITING of the 250-word abstracts. If your abstract does not conform to these instructions, it will not be accepted. Abstracts should cover the objectives, procedures, results and conclusions of the research to be presented and should be no more than 250words, including spaces and punctuations. The title, authors, and authors affiliations are not included in the character limit. The abstract title must be printed with bold upper and lower case prints and aligned with the left margin. Allow for one-line space after the title, then type in authors names and affiliations. Authors names should be printed with bold upper and lower case prints in sequential order of seniority. i.e. Senior author first with affiliated University/Employer in regular font, followed by secondary authors and their affiliated Universities/Employers. In case the technical paper presenter is not the senior author, it is required that an asterisk (*) is put after the speakers name. Beginning from the 2014 conference, NAPE-UAP has decided that only the students name should appear on the abstract as the author. Do not include your supervisors name as a co-author. However, for ultimate publication of the paper, the supervisors name should be included as co-author. Allow for one-line space after the authors listing. The abstract text body should not be more than 250 words. The following must not be included in the abstract: illustrations, references, abbreviations or bold print. All body text should be justified (i.e. aligned to 2 both the left and right margins.) The abstract must be only one paragraph and lines must be single-spaced. Font point or size of 12 is preferred in Times New Roman. Allow your colleague(s) and Faculty Lecturer to proof-read your abstract before submitting your paper
