Webliography 3 All About Chapter 3: Evidence-Based Practice Chapter 3 helps us understand what can be the most effective approaches to the process of e-learning. This is relevant because it allows us to understand if the procedures we use are effective in obtaining useful results. This I think, is an old-fashioned method of elearning so I never felt it deviated from what I believe especially in data gathering. Technology is helpful especially in instructional learning. However, way back science and data gathering, evidence-based procedure never failed to assist researchers in their quest for knowledge improvement. I think it is only in the matter being more innovative during data gathering and having a keen sense of understanding of ones topic to concretize all analysis. If I am a beginner and doesnt have any idea of e-learning, chapter is definitely a good start to understand. Logic could tell us that evidence is one of the basic principles of knowing or understanding anything. Without it, there would not be any be discussions to start with. In my own opinion, it certainly takes on the effectiveness of being immersed with a particular situation. For example, once you know your client, that is, being able to interact with him or her more often, there is a greater chance of understanding his or her behavior. However, in cases of e-learning, it is imperative to note that evidence-based practice should allow for creating high-quality research. High-quality research means encouraging critical thinking and understanding. I also believe that certain biases are always created once a person is engaged to research. In this case, there is much to learn in the procedure done for instructional effectiveness. Primary questions, in any case study made is essential. This is the reason why immersing oneself in a particular study or even a subject for that matter is always the number one goal of any researcher words (Clark and Mayer, 2008). I believe that recognizing the uniqueness of every individual entails such procedure. During the process, a person learns more about the subject and can deal with a clearer perspective. Recognizing the behavior of subjects usually means able to know if the research

Webliography 4 material entails graphics or questionnaires. It is good to note which instructional materials to use because it allows for speed in taking information, thus, analyzing critically well the data or results. In fact, the process will be able to help a person formulate coherent questions that will be useful during evaluation process. It is but hard to reason based mere justifying things. We all know that hard evidences are used even way back scientific method was not yet popular. In fact, it is better to understand that no amount of knowledge can alter the evidences presented during the gathering of information. However, during the process of experimentation, it is also important to know the areas where you are most comfortable doing. This is one of the most important procedures the article offered to me as a reader. Aside from doing it the more logical and faster way, as a researcher, you are able to create more interest in your own interest. Surprisingly, it is still the most effective method according to the article. Focusing with the study is not only a valid procedure but also determining if the instructional methodology you are using works for you. The article also somehow suggests that a person undergoing research can choose from doing experimental control, random assignment and also appropriate measures. It is just best to discuss first hand what will make of a good result or evaluation. More importantly, it helps in the understanding of how one can derive results that will arrive to the answer of most queries words (Clark and Mayer, 2008). There are instances when there is no instructional effect that took place during the experimentation. It is then imperative to discover how one can prevent such situation from happening. During such situation, it is important for an investigator to determine what are the reasons such case it happened. I believe it is important not to just accept it and having a strong opinion regarding why instructional method did not work. However, what I think is essential is to create mitigating measures so next time will a lot improvement on your part.

Webliography 5 Although evidence-based practice allows for applicability in every learning situation, the said procedure acknowledges the fact of data interpretation. With several concrete evidences, a researcher is able to review all statistical data. Comparison is helpful data interpretation. In most cases, this can be an effective means to see the deviations that happened within a specific period. Generally, with the differences, a researcher is able to process, even in observation the effects of the deviation. It may not be understandable at first, but it can be a source of reliable data analysis. The chapter is then an excellent read why Evidence based practice makes it a practical way of analyzing data and achieving ones goal in e-learning process. It may be a little bit old school, but in my own personal note, the chapter suggests how the said procedure should not be ignored despite the many modern practice of data analysis explored words (Clark and Mayer, 2008). Understanding Chapter 4: Applying Multimedia Principles Technology is always changing and improving. This is the reason why e-learning has all its methodologies or practices. One of which is utilizing multimedia principles in research to perk-up results. Chapter 4 takes explores on the conditions of using multimedia in research. Moreover, it is important to learn the principles of applying multimedia in e-lessons because it helps instructors know what methodology to use on a particular study. However, I think it is more interesting to use this methodology because it uses images during observation and evaluation period. What makes this important in e-learning experience? In multimedia process, words and graphics are being employed. This means that the progression takes on a more comprehensive manner for most researchers. Multimedia presentation, for that matter signifies the use of presentation techniques and words for e-learning courses. The trick then here is utilizing words and pictures in a manner where both presentations are combined to create a meaning that is imperative in the learning. It is then factual that once a person uses

Webliography 6 such method of e-learning, planning the utilization of graphics and words is a meticulous process that needs more analysis. This is because so much information can be taken even with words; what more if there is graphics included. This is because there are situations that make everything confusing once graphics and words are put in one place. I also believe in the idea or concept of active learning. In fact, many are more visual, in the sense that they understand the logic behind an idea when images are presented. It is then not surprising that many utilize such method because aside from providing interest to learners because of the graphics, interaction is also encouraged. No dull moment for multimedia learning and of course, shallow learning is not urged. I was also impressed with the environment provided in multimedia procedures. Graphics sometimes even enhance the learning experience especially when text is also provided to explain the visuals. However, it is strongly recommended that visual, as mentioned, should go side by side with words. This means that it is not fine to decorate ones instructional material with visuals but the words used are quite vague. It is nice to note that Chapter 4 also shared some insights on how to select properly graphics that aids in instructional materials. It has to be remembered that not all visuals are helpful and serve their functions properly. It is then proper to stress that decorating ones page with visuals just to make everything else interesting is a no, no in e-learning. In my point of view, the chapter conveys how effective language and printed language can be in explaining systems of technology. However, though these techniques make work easier and learning faster, active participation is still the best chance of absorbing better results. Active learning, as the chapter reiterates every now and then is best encouraged in multimedia procedures. Nevertheless, everything becomes useless and completely out of hand. My own personal experience allows logic reasoning too. For example, I give more credit to presentations with visuals and words than words alone. Aside from being too rigid if plain words are only

Webliography 7 present, reading the presentation makes it even worst because processing each slide is too much to absorb. Im not sure of others but this usually happens to me especially if I cannot see graphics that makes presentation more interesting words (Clark and Mayer, 2008). Words and printed words will always be a powerful tool to understand experiments, test performances and even analysis. It is also one of the many techniques where science can explain things and events in general. There have been significant studies that explain improvement with the use of multimedia methodology with the company of helpful graphics. I believe that this is also a good point why such technique is named. The combination of various medium makes interaction more positive and encouraging. I also agree with the chapter stating that multimedia principles are helpful for beginners. In fact, mental images become more developed on novices utilizing multimedia processes rather than taking knowledge on sole spoken words (Clark and Mayer, 2008).
