Installing the Combined BTS3012 Cabinets and BTS3012 Cabinet Groups (-48 V/+24 V) (Capacity Expansion)
This describes how to install the combined BTS3012 cabinets and BTS3012 cabinet groups. The BTS3012 supports the combination of two cabinets to form one group and the combination of three cabinet groups. One cabinet supports 12 TRXs in full configuration. With three combined groups, the S12/12/12 cell configuration can be achieved. The capacity expansion disrupts the services carried by the BTS.
Prerequisites
l l l l l l You have obtained the status of the board or the module and the information about the corresponding slot. You have confirmed the types and number of the required boards or modules as well as the subrack and slots where the boards or modules are located. The hardware versions of new boards or modules are correct. If the boards or modules have DIP switches on them, ensure that the settings of the DIP switches are correct. You have arranged the key to the front cabinet door and other required tools, such as a #2 cross screwdriver, cable straps, and labels. The required material has been delivered on site.
NOTE
l If you need to add a BTS, ensure that there are idle ports on the GEIUB or GOIUB on the BSC side. l For combined cabinets and cabinet groups, you need to remove the lightning protection failure alarm cables on the top of the cabinet and replace the short cables with long cables. A 35 mm straight screwdriver is required.
Context
You can install the combined cabinets on the cement floor with sufficient bearing capacity, on the ESD floor, or on the cement floor with insufficient bearing capacity. l The principles you should comply with when placing the cabinets are as follows: The cabinet can be installed with the side or rear against the wall.

6 Installing the Combined BTS3012 Cabinets and BTS3012 Cabinet Groups (-48 V/+24 V) (Capacity Expansion)
The cabinets can be installed side by side. At least 0.8 m of clearance must be reserved in front of the cabinet. The cabinet must be placed as close as possible to the feeder window to reduce the length of the feeder. The levelness of the cabinet must be measured with a level bar. All the cabinets in the same row must be in a horizontal line. l In any installation mode, an insulation plate must be added under the lower frame and an insulation washer must be added to the fastening pieces that fix the lower frame. This is an effective way to keep the whole set of equipment insolated from the ground before the PGND cable is connected.
CAUTION
l If you may touch the cabinet (including boards, modules, cables, and components in the cabinet) in an operation, wear an ESD wrist strap and correctly ground it. l When installing boards, do not touch PCBs or components except jumpers and DIP switches. l Because the captive screws on the boards in the common subrack are M3 screws, use a #2 cross screwdriver (diameter: 6 mm) when loosen or tighten the screws. If you do not know the type of the cross screwdriver, try different cross screwdrivers starting from the one with the greatest diameter until you find a suitable one.
