Welcome to the 8th IE Social Responsibility Forum!

Social Means Business

The Social Responsibility Forum Team welcomes you to a two day event in which we will explore some of the toughest and most demanding issues facing the planet today, from energy to waste management to empowerment and development at the bottom of the pyramid.

With 19 different panels consisting of over 70 speakers as diverse as our own student body, we will identify current trends in the fields of CSR, Sustainability, and Social Enterprise. Most importantly, however, we hope to prove that Sustainability is not simply a buzz word or a passing fad but in fact Social Means Business and will be a staple of the modern business model.
The theme for this years forum invites us to discuss how social responsibility and sustainability should no longer be seen as only a marketing tool, but instead, as a fundamental part of every organizations day to day operations, continually delivering on the triple bottom line, People, Planet, and Profits. For the future of business and the development of our planet Social indeed must Mean Business.

The SRF Team invites you to look through our program, review our wide range of topics, and get to know our diverse group of speakers. On November 22 & 23 we hope to see you there and are able to discover why Social Means Business.
Sincerely, The Social Responsibility Forum Team

As L'Oreal just recently announced their 2020 Sustainability plan, Mr Marang will touch on a few of these initiatives; however he will primarily highlight their approach to Sustainable Consumption and Shared Development. With most CSR strategies primarily focusing on operations and supply chain, L'Oreal has taken it upon themselves to address the consumer, even further. L'Oreal will be spearheading an initiative to make sustainability more desirable to consumers, for example through delivering 100 % sustainable products that have both a positive social and or environmental impact. Additionally, L'Oreal aims to educate consumers to make sustainable choices and adopt sustainable behaviors through a strong communications strategy. With such a unique and interesting topic, The IE Social Responsibility Forum is happy to announce Mr Marang as this years Key Note Speaker. Mr Marang is currently the Director of Global CSR Coordination at L'Oreal. As Coordinator of CSR he provides a collective support network to the 130 countries in which L'Oreal operates. This support system includes guidelines, communication and training tools and resources for initiating operations in new countries while maintaining best practices in existing ones. He continually promotes local enforcement of L'Oreal's Global CSR strategy and goals through a set of action plans while maintaining a collaborative dialogue with all stakeholders with a strong dedication to the triple bottom line, People, Planet, and Profits. Since Mr Marang joined L'Oreal in 2001 he has held multiple positions including Ethics Projects Manager and Group Issues and Crisis Manager. Should it be relevant to its business or should it be only related to the needs of society, regardless of the nature of the company? Companies are trying to improve their brand equity with SRPs and we will listen to some examples from the perspective of marketing professionals on the topic. Moderator Speakers
