GENERAL DIRECTIONS
MATERIALS
For this happy hamster the following materials were used:
100% Woolfelt in black, brown, pink and off white (for part )
100% biological cotton (for parts 1, 2a and 2b)
Toy stufng. (non-toxic)
Yarn in matching colors
CUTTING
Print the pattern pieces and cut out. The hamsters back pattern
must be assembled prior to cutting the fabric. Overlap the two
pattern pieces at the grey indicated area and tape together.
A 3/8 (1cm) seam allowance is included marked with:
As you can see, some areas (or entire pattern pieces) are without
this seam allowance; these areas are to be stitched at the raw
edge. Because were using 100% wool felt, the material allows
us to leave the edges of the felt unnished. Please make sure to
create clean cutting lines for a clean look.
Please note: if you choose to use different fabrics, it might be
necessary to add seam allowance to the parts without seam al-
lowance.
Make sure the back pieces and eyes are mirror images of one
another.
Cut the fabric according the cutting lines.
Suggested cutting layouts for the different felt/fabric colors are
provided below (as were used for this hamster).

SEWING INSTRUCTIONS
Cut all the necessary pattern parts in the felt colors of your
choice.
1. Pin tail part (12) to left back part (1).
2. Put right back part on top of left part, pin together and stitch
center back in a 3/8 (1cm) seam.


3. Press the seam allowance open.
4. The back should look like this now



5. Pin the 4 paws (5) to the front bottom part (2b). Stitch paws to
front bottom part in a 1/4 (6mm) seam (close to edge).





6. Pin front top part (2a) to front bottom part (2b). Stitch in a 3/8
(1 cm) seam.






7. Press the seam allowance up.




8. Pin head (3) to front. Topstitch head close to raw edge.

9. Create nostrils by topstitching nose (9) in matching yarn
color.
10. Pin nose to beak (6), and topstitch along raw edge.

11. Pin lower jaw (8) to upper jaw (7) and stitch together.
12. Pin jaw (7&8) to beak (6).


13. Pin jaw and beak to head (piece 3) and topstitch along raw
edge. If you like, you can put some toy stufng in the beak
before nishing your topstitching, to make it pop out a bit.







14. Use needle and a white thread to create a highlight on the
eyes (10).
15. (Optional) Pin eye (10) to eye patch (11) and topstitch along
raw edge.
16. Pin eyes on head and topstitch along raw edges.









17. Stitch cheek lines.

18. For each ear (4) stitch ear parts together. Trim seam allowance
to a 1/4 (6mm) seam, and clip curves to reduce bulk.



19. Turn right side out. Fold ear towards marking. Stitch raw
edges together.


20. Pin ears to head and stitch together.













21. With right sides together, pin front to back. Stitch front to
back, leaving a section open at the bottom.












22. Turn right side out. Fill hamster with Toy stufng. Close bot-
tom by hand with needle and thread. Make sure that you close
the hamster carefully, we dont want your baby or children to
get there hands on the toy stufng!
