Mission: Fostoria City Schools-- to provide equal opportunities for success by promoting academic growth, creativity, responsibility, tolerance, citizenship, life-skills and personal health so that individuals can achieve their maximum potential for life in a global society.

Project Based Student Inquiry

PARCC and Next Generation Assessments, End of Course Exams


PARCC- Online Assessment that will have two components:
Performance Based: 75% of the way through the school year ELA/Literacy will focus on writing when analyzing text Math will focus on applying skills and concepts to multistep problems that require abstract reasoning, precision, and use of tools End of Year

ELA and Math students will demonstrate skills and knowledge acquired through the school year

This Spring we will be participating: 11 ELA will take an EOY Assessment 10 ELA will take a PBA Assessment

8 Math will take a PBA Assessment


7 Math will take a PBA Assessment 6 ELA will take a PBA Assessment

The PBA Assessment will be given between March 24th and April 11th
THE EOY Assessment will be given May 05- June 06

New ELA Curriculum K-6

Through the State Support Team- Parent-Teacher Partnerships We are one of 16 schools in the state

Goals
Improve Parent- Teacher Communication Better Understanding of what is happening How can each group help each other Focus this year is with parents from 6th and 7th grade families

Hopefully the state gives us additional 4 days to use Currently we have 9 days to make up Make Up Dates at this point: Pending State Legislation
