NEW DEVELOPMENT: HVA-HV NEW PRODUCT: BA100

VACUUM BOTTLE TESTING

HV Diagnostics has incorporated a firmware routine to enable HVA users to test vacuum bottles. The special firmware is available from your distributor at a fairly nominal cost. The HVA will ramp up the DC voltage until the maximum desired voltage is reached or will trip out once an arc is detected.

CAPACITOR TESTING
We have a customer in Mpumulanga, South Africa who is using the HVA60 to check the capacitance of components of capacitors. The unit has operated flawlessly in identifying faulty individual components and providing an additional source of revenue for his business. For the asset owner this has proven to be a useful and cost-effective preventative maintenance technique.

CALIBRATION
All HVA units require yearly calibration. Users of the equipment are encouraged to contact their distributor to arrange for this important yearly maintenance. We advise that you also request a basic service of the equipment to upgrade the firmware (if required) and perform some some cleaning and electrical checking on each unit.

PD COMMISSIONING IN INDIA
In April 2010, HV Diagnostics assisted Mtekpro in India to commission a complete VLF/TD/PD solution at the Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) in Bangalore, India. We are hopeful that the benefits of this equipment to CPRI will soon propagate out into the market so that this will generate a number of additional sales in the region as other players follow their lead. FIRMWARE UPGRADES
Firmware upgrades are generally freely available from HV Diagnostics but the upgrade must be performed by your distributor. There are a number of firmware upgrades available for the HVA family of products depending on the version of hardware. Check that you also have the latest version of our PC programs : HVA Control Centre V 2.11 TD Control Centre V 1.83

HV Diagnostics is pleased to announce the launch of a new oil tester the BA100 with a maximum voltage of 100 kV. The fully automated tests are performed according to a number of international standards chosen by the operator from a user-friendly interface.
