About IIHMR

Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR), Jaipur (formerly known as Indian Institute of Health Management Research), was founded in 1984. In the three decades, the Institute has created a niche in high quality research, education and training in Health Management and Hospital Management. It has made phenomenal contribution in health systems and services research, especially in policy and program management and evaluation. The Institute has attained a pride position in health management, planning and research at the national and international levels. The role of the Institute is being increasingly realized and appreciated in developing health management as an important discipline for improving the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of health care; and setting a research agenda. It is a WHO Collaborating Centre for District Health Systems based on primary health care. It is identified as an Institute of Excellence for training by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Postgraduate program in Hospital and Health Management is a top ranking management education program in the country, which has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, AICTE, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India (GoI). IIHMR Jaipur also offers Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Management and Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Management with an intake capacity of 60 each. IIHMR Jaipur has also introduced Masters in Public Health in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore USA, a first of its kind program in India. The course is conducted jointly and degree will be awarded by the Johns Hopkins University, USA. For its outstanding contribution to the healthcare education sector, the Institute has received ABP News National B School Leadership award, Amar Ujala B School excellence awards 2012 ,Indian B School Awards 2013 by Discovery Education Media Private Limited, Best healthcare management Institute by Outlook B school survey 2013,Hindustan Times, Mint, CNN IBN Survey. It was also given a commendation card by the health minister of Afghanistan for distinguished services rendered there and conducting courses for 473 doctors,Health administrators and nurses. With a mission to make healthcare research, education and training accessible to all corners of the country, IIHMR Banglore was established in 2004 and IIHMR Delhi was established in 2008 with an aim to spear head education and training of professionals looking to gain a strong edge in the Hospital and Health Management. The programs are of two years duration and are AICTE approved. The Delhi campus has 120 seats for this program and IIHMR Bangalore has an intake capacity of 60 students. The management graduates of the Institutes have contributed to a paradigm shift in managing hospitals and health care systems in the country and abroad. IIHMR has established a network and collaboration in the health sector with 17 institutions/Universities in India and abroad like Johns Hopkins University, USA, University of Chester UK, Mahidol University Thailand, SAARC, South East Asia Public Health Institution Network (SEAPHEIN),Gulf Medical University, Ajman, B P Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Nepal etc. IIHMR, can surely boast of having, as its faculty, the crme de la crme of the healthcare Institutions.
