ABOVE: The RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flights iconic three-aircraft formation comprising its Avro Lancaster accompanied by one each of its Hawker Hurricanes and Supermarine Spitres has become a hugely popular sight and sound at major UK air shows and some other smaller events up and down the UK. Nearest the camera here is the Flights Hurricane IIc PZ865/EG-S wearing its recently-applied 34 Sqn South East Asia Command camouage scheme with Spitre XVIe TE311/4D-V, the most recent addition which only ew again in 2012, wearing 74 Squadron 4D-V paintwork, below it. In this view the Lancaster, in its current 617 Sqn KC-A Thumper III paint scheme, is the most distant aircraft of the formation.
