Get tattooed and pierced at Soul Survivors!
If you’re looking for a clean place with friendly
people to get pierced and/or tattooed by, Soul
Survivors is the place!
When caring for cartilage piercings (ear, nose) here are some tips:
1. Don’t use Q-tips or Kleenex on it. The cotton fibres and dust can get
caught up inside your piercing.
2. Pillowcases must be changed at least twice a week, if not more.
3. Hair is meant to be kept off your piercing. Your hair collects dirt and oil
and can cause infection if it gets inside your piercing.
4. Keep makeup off and away from your piercing. This can also cause
irritation or infection.
What to expect:
There is a risk of scar tissue called hypertrophic forming. It is a raised red
bump around or to the side of your piercing. This is caused by stress or trauma to
your piercing. This isn’t permanent but can cause your piercing to heal crooked if
not looked after.

Mostly Bs…
You’re a Lip/Labret piercing. Laid back and easy with
pain. You love to make people laugh but you’re not
too crazy.

You’re a tongue piercing.
You go with the flow and love to be wild. You’re
outgoing and enjoy fried foods.
Mostly Ds…
You’re a surface piercing.
You’re insane and have the highest threshold of pain.
I love you, you are my hero. You also love tacos,
most likely, which is fantastic. You probably also like
salad. Salad is good.

How to Care For Navel, Septum, Nipple, Eyebrow, Earlobe, Lip, and Labret
Piercings
Some piercings aren’t permanent. Your body can push the jewellery closer
to the surface of your skin. Ask your piercer if you think this is happening. If your
body pushes it out all the way it will result in a bigger scar than if you take it out.
After you take out the piercing it is possible to get the piercing done again.
You should always feel comfortable asking a question. You also should
never feel stupid by doing so. The only stupid questions are the ones that you
don’t ask.

Tattoos: Harmles or DEADLY?
Basically, if you’re
getting a tattoo look for health
inspection certificates. If you’ve
already got one, get checked
for diseases.

Interview
Jeanine: How could you get a tattoo if you don’t like needles?
Liezl: A tattoo would be more meaningful instead of just a hole in your body.
Jeanine: I see, and what are your biggest fears with piercings?
Liezl: I just don’t want scars.
Jeanine: Ah, well, what are your biggest fears with tattoos? Do you have any?
Liezl: I’m afraid that my skin will peel off in the shape of the tattoo like I saw
somewhere else.
Jeanine: That’s disgusting, but if you keep up the care on your tattoo with lotion
and everything it won’t happen. Back to the interview, why do you like tattoos?
Liezl: They’re so pretty.
Jeanine: Would you ever get someone’s name tattooed on your body or do you
thing that’s stupid? Why or why not?
Liezl: Yeah if it’s someone important in your life and you put their name on your
body it shows they mean a lot to you.
Jeanine: Thank you Liezl for sharing your views on tattoos and piercings. This
brings us to the end of our interview.
Tattoo Cleaning
Everyone in this industry will have different
philosophies and different advice to give you on
how you should take care of your tattoo. So,
we've taken some of the most important tattoo
tips and put them together for you in a list.
1. Sun block - After a tattoo is healed, apply a
high SPF sun block to keep the colours
bright and beautiful.
2. Lotion - Once a tattoo is "healed" the area
is still somewhat dry. Applying lotion on a
regular basis will do your tattoo wonders.
3. Itching - Never pick or scratch at a healing
tattoo. This will cause your tattoo to form
colourless patches. A light slap will get rid of
the itching sensation.
4. Drinking - Don't drink alcohol 48 hours prior
to getting tattooed. This will thin out your
blood, weakening your system. Caffeine,
acetecylic acid (Tylenol, Aspirin, Ibuprofen)
and anti-coagulants will also have the same
affect on your blood.
5. Eating - A good meal before you get
tattooed is always a good idea.
