Cisco Systems announces the end-of-sale dates for the CISCO7206VXR/NSE-1 Bundle. The last day to order the CISCO7206VXR/NSE-1 Bundle is April 20, 2001. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until otherwise specified by a component-specific end-of-life announcement or new Product ID. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the CISCO7206VXR/NSE-1 Bundle. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.

Product Migration Options

The customer can choose any of the suggested migration products depending on the performance/feature requirements. The 7206VXR/NPE-G2 bundle provides the highest performance amongst the suggested migration products with the Network Processing Engine NPE-G2 providing up to 2 Million packets per second (Mpps). The Cisco 7200 Network Processing Enginer NPE-G2 is the most recent addition to the Cisco 7200VXR Series processor family. The Network Processing Engine NPE-G2:

Addresses the demand for performance and flexibility by dramatically increasing processing capacity and enabling unprecedented LAN performance

Increases flexible processing to two million packets per second Maximizes LAN performance with three onboard GE/FE ports Increases scalability by supporting up to 2 GB of DRAM Offering USB ports for etoken and USB flash support Reduces system cost by eliminating the requirement for an I/O controller Maintains application flexibility and investment protection by supporting existing 7200 features at an unprecedented value.
