Comprehensive HSPA+ Small Cell Solution

Mobile operators are missing out on nearly 2 billion remote customers, who remain unconnected in rural, suburban and remote mining/oil & gas sites. Until recently, operators have not even attempted to reach these potential users: they often could not justify the time and expense of rolling out conventional infrastructure, coupled with low ARPU. Small cells are ideal for addressing these challenges. However, they must be fine-tuned to reduce both CAPEX and OPEX and to work efficiently with a satellite backhaul. Gilat has applied its extensive experience in satellite communications to design a fully integrated package, bundling a small cell with satellite backhaul from one vendor.

Optimized for the Remote Environment

CellEdge 3G is Gilats integrated solution, comprising a fully outdoor HSPA+ small cell, optimized to work over a low-bandwidth satellite link. CellEdge 3G provides high transmission power for wide coverage coupled with low energy consumption, enabling operators to use cost effective solar power at off-grid locations. Gilats small cell solution features optimized voice and data compression techniques, in addition to Gilats renowned, highbandwidth efficiency algorithms. With Gilats integrated CellEdge 3G solution, operators can reach unconnected communities quickly and economically, supporting high capacity, optimized throughput and high transmission rates, using minimal power.
