Bind off
Change to waste yarn. Knit 10-15 rows. Cast off.
Finishing
Graft together the two parts. Unravel the waste yarn. A proper lace-blocking is necessary for the perfect look of your shawl. Soak finished item in cold water with gentle soap or wool wash. Leave it for 10-15 minutes. Drain water and squeeze out excess moisture from the item (be careful not to wring or twist the fabric). Roll into a large dry towel and squeeze to force out as much water as possible. Use blocking wires and T-pins for best results. Stretch the scarf to your prefered dimensions and pin out. Leave it to dry at least for 24 hours.
