Sugar'n Cream - Daisy Bouquet (crochet)

MEASUREMENTS Flower: Approx 4 ins [11.5 cm] wide.

MATERIALS: Lily Sugar n Cream (Solids: 70.9 g/2.5 oz/109 m/120 yds) (Ombres: 56.7g/2 oz/86 m/95 yds) Main Color (MC) (00001 White) 1 ball Contrast A (00073 Sunshine) 1 ball Contrast B (01712 Hot Green) 2 balls Size 4 mm (U.S. G or 6) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge. Light green floral wire. GAUGE 15 sc and 16 rows = 4 ins [10 cm]. ABBREVIATIONS Beg = Beginning. Ch = Chain(s). Dc = Double crochet. Hdc = Half double crochet. Rep = Repeat. RS = Right side. Sc = Single crochet. Sl st = Slip stitch. Sp(s) = Space(s). St(s) = Stitch(es). Tog = Together. Tr = Treble crochet. WS = Wrong side. Yoh = Yarn over hook. INSTRUCTIONS Note: Two Daisy Motifs are used for each Flower. They are joined WS facing each other with stem between them. DAISY MOTIF A (Make 8) With A, ch 2. 1st rnd: 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st to first sc. 2nd rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. Join MC with sl st to first sc. 10 sc. Break A. **3rd rnd: With MC, ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Ch 7. 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook. 1 hdc in next ch. 1 dc in each of next 3 ch. Miss next sc of last rnd. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * around, ending with sl st in first sc. 5 petals. Note: 5 petals from 3rd rnd will alternate with 5 petals from 4th rnd. 4th rnd: Ch 1. Working behind last rnd, 1 sc in next missed sc from last rnd. *Ch 7. 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook. 1 hdc in next ch. 1 dc in each of next 3 ch. Miss next sc. 1 sc in next missed sc from last rnd. Rep from * around, ending with sl st in first sc. 5 petals. Fasten off.**

DAISY MOTIF B (Make 8) With B, ch 2. 1st rnd: 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join A with sl st to first sc. Break B. 2nd rnd: With A, ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. Join MC with sl st to first sc. 10 sc. Break B. Work from ** to ** as given for Daisy Motif. STEMS (make 8) With B, ch 51. 1st row: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of ch. 50 sc. Fasten off. LEAVES (make 24): With B, ch 8. 1st rnd: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 hdc in each of next 2 ch. 1 dc in each of next 2 ch. 1 hdc in next ch. 5 hdc in last ch. Working into opposite side of ch into rem loops, 1 hdc in next ch, 1 dc in each of next 2 ch. 1 hdc in each of next 2 ch. 1 sc in last ch. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off. FINISHING Cut floral wine in lengths to fit stems and weave through stem. Sew 3 leaves to each stem. Attach 2 Daisy Motifs for each Flower with WS facing each other and stem between them.

Materials needed: Kreinik Metallics blending filament (50m per spool): 1 spool each purple #012 (BFA), green #008 (BFB) and star mauve #093 (BFC) South Maid crochet cotton size 10 (350 yd per ball): small amounts each purple #458 (A), myrtle green #484 (B), white #1 (C), and soft yellow #143 (D) Size 7 steel crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge 12" length 1/8" wide white satin ribbon 3/4" long pin back Tapestry needle Sewing needle and white sewing thread Instructions: Gauge: Flower = 7/8" in diameter - Check gauge to save time. Rnd 6: Ch 3, [shell in next ch-6 sp, dc in next tr] rep around, ending with shell in last ch-6 sp, join in top of beg ch-3, fasten off. Finishing Press doily and violets gently on WS with steam iron. With tapestry needle and D, work one French knot in the center of each violet, leaving ends for finishing. Place foundation ch of stems on RS of doily just below center and sew to doily from WS. Using photo as a guide, position violets on center of doily and tack in place with ends from French knots left for finishing, covering foundation ch of stems. Gather stems together approximately 3/4" from top and tie together with length of white ribbon. Trim ends of ribbon to desired length. Sew pin back to center of doily on WS.

FULL FLOWER (Make 3 each with MC, A and B). Ch 4, leaving a long end to use for gathering center closed when Rose is complete. Join with sl st in first ch to form a ring. 1st rnd: Ch 1.
