All of you know that Bharati Vidyapeeth University is one of the leading Universities in the country having A grade awarded by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. It is also accredited with prestigious A grade in 2004 and reaccredited with A grade in 2011 by the NAAC, Bangalore. It is also significant to note that some of its constituent units have ISO 2001-2009 certification. Our University has excellent infrastructure for all its constituent Institutions such as well-structured spacious buildings, continuously updated laboratories and hostels with all necessary amenities and facilities. Today, the horizons of knowledge are expanding exponentially. It is, therefore, a challenge to cope up with this vibrant system of higher education and Bharati Vidyapeeth University is well-equipped to impart latest training and education to its students. Eligibility Criteria to appear for MEDPET 2014


1. 2. The candidate must be an Indian National. Foreign / NRI / PIO / OCI candidates seeking admission to the PG Programmes will have to obtain registration from the Medical Council of India. Any candidate who has obtained, MBBS Degree from any recognised Medical College in India under NRI Category will not be considered under regular catagory for Post Graduate course even if he possesses recognised MBBS degree from an Indian University. The candidate must have passed MBBS examination from any Medical College recognised by the Medical Council of India. The candidate should have completed the compulsory rotating internship on or before 30th April, 2014. He / She will have to produce a certificate of completion of internship before joining the programme. The candidate should have a permanent registration with any State Medical Council in India or Medical Council of India. If he / she does not have the same, he / she will be required to obtain such registration within one month after admission to the PG Programme failing which his / her admission to PG Programme will automatically get cancelled. For Admission to Post Graduate Medical Courses the candidate must secure minimum 50 percent marks and candidate belonging to SC/ST category minimum 40 percent marks in the MEDPET-2014. If a candidate does not fulfill any or all of the above requirements or fails to pay the fees at the time of counselling and admission or does not fulfill any of the eligibility criterion, he / she will not be considered eligible for admission irrespective of his / her appearing for MEDPET 2014 examination and securing a rank in the merit list. The candidates possessing Diploma qualification in the same subject recognised by the Medical Council of India are eligible for exemption of 1st year of the 3 year residency (PostGraduation Period) in the same subject. Before joining the Post-Graduate Course if. Govt. of India or any other competent authority makes it mandatory to complete "One years Rural Posting" it will a binding on the candidates. The University shall not be responsible for any resultant changes in the admission process.

Bharati Vidyapeeth, the parent organization of this University is one of the largest educational organizations in the country. It has 171 educational units under its umbrella including 67 Colleges and Institutes of conventional and professional disciplines.. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India on the recommendations of the University Grants Commission accorded the status of "Deemed to be University" initially to a cluster of 12 units of Bharati Vidyapeeth. Subsequently, 17 additional colleges / institutes were brought within the ambit of Bharati Vidyapeeth University wide various notifications of the Government of India. Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University commenced its functioning on 26th April,1996.

During the last 16 years or so, the University has achieved higher pinnacles of academic excellence and has established its reputation to such an extent that it attracts students not only from various parts of India but also from abroad. According to a survey conducted by Association of Indian Universities, this University is one among the top ten Universities in the country preferred by the overseas students for admissions. At present, there are more than 800 overseas students from 67 countries on the rolls of constituent units of this University. During the last 16 years, there has been tremendous academic expansion of the University. It now conducts in all 214 courses in its constituent units, of them 107 are Post Graduate, 50 are Under Graduate and 57 Diploma level courses. All the professional courses which the University conducts such as those of Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering etc., have approval of the respective statutory councils, viz., Medical Council of India, Dental Council of India, All India Council for Technical Education etc. The University is a throbbing center of research activities and has launched Ph.D. programmes in 64 subjects. It has also introduced quite few innovative academic programmes such as Masters in Clinical Optometry, M.Tech. in Nano Technology etc. The University's performance and achievements were assessed by the "National Assessment and Accreditation Council" and it was reaccredited with a prestigious "A" grade in 2011. Some programmes of the constituent units such as College of Engineering at Pune, Management Institute in Delhi and others have also been accredited by "National Board of Accreditation". Three constituent units of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University are also the recipients of ISO 9001-2001 certifications.

Distinct Features of this University :


The University

The University has been awarded A Grade by Ministry of Human Resources Govt. of India. Is one of the largest Universities in terms of Constituent Units established u/s. 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. Is a multi-faculty University with Twelve Faculties : (1) Arts, Social Sciences and Commerce, (2) Science, (3) Law, (4) Medical Sciences, (5) Dentistry, (6) Ayurveda, (7) Homoeopathy, (8) Nursing, (9) Pharmaceutical Sciences, (10) Management Studies (11) Engineering and Technology, (12) Interdisciplinary Studies Offers a wide range of academic programmes to the students. The number of Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Diploma Programmes are 44, 104, 37 respectively. Accredited by the NAAC with prestigious 'A' grade (2004) and reaccredited with 'A' grade(2011). Is according to a survey conducted by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, among the top ten universities and preferred by the overseas students for admissions. During the year 2009-10 there are 800 overseas students from 32 countries enrolled with constituent units. Has eight campuses located in different cities including New Delhi. Is probably the only University having three self-financing research institutes devoted exclusively for research in health related sciences, pharmaceutical sciences and social sciences. Has established a separate Sports Department to promote sports activities. Has established a Centre for Performing Arts, which runs graduate programmes in various performing arts including dance, drama and music. Three constituent units of the University are assessed by the National Board of Accreditation and are accredited with prestigious grades. Its three constituent units have also obtained ISO 2001-2009 certification. Has organized several international and national level seminars, conferences, etc. Is a University which academically and intellectually very productive whose faculty members have very laudable record of research publications and patents. Has digital libraries at all the constituent units. Has created excellent infrastructure for all its constituent units, including well structured specious buildings continuously updated laboratories and libraries and hostels with all the necessary amenities and facilities for both boys and girls. Has built a specialized research institute accommodating 18 laboratories for the researches in pharmaceutical sciences. Has launched laudable outreach programmes through NSS units. Is proud of its Institute of Environment Science and Research Education, which has been identified as a nodal agency by the Government of India for its programmes of biodiversity and environmental products. It has adopted several primary schools with a view to create environmental consciousness among their students. Has established Women's Creativity Development Centre to undertake researches regarding women, particularly, those of disadvantage groups and to promote creativity among them.

Our Campuses Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University has campuses in Pune, Mumbai, Solapur, Kolhapur, Sangli, Karad and New Delhi, the capital city of India. It's two Medical Colleges are located in Pune and Sangli.

Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College, Pune (India)


Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College, Pune established in 1989 is one of the premier institutes imparting quality medical education at undergraduate, postgraduate and post doctoral level. The college was under the Pune University before it became the constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune in April 1996. At present the college is permitted to admit 150 students for MBBS course and 103 students in various postgraduate degree and diploma courses. All the courses have been started with the prior permission of the Medical Council of India and are recognized by it. The college is recognized by General Medical Council, Great Britain. The college is listed in the World Health Organization's Directory and the students of this college are eligible to appear for USMLE and PLAB examination. The college also conducts certain post doctoral fellowship programs, M.Sc. program in Basic Sciences and Ph.D. program. The college as a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune was accredidated "A" grade by NAAC in 2004, & reaccredited again with coveted A grade in 2011. The college boasts of excellent infrastructure, experienced, dedicated and caring faculty, a strong student support system, facilities for research including a dedicated research institute, community outreach and extension activities and a 860 bedded multispeciality, tertiary care hospital offering all the modern diagnostic and therapeutic services, which also serves as a teaching and training centre for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. The hospital offers comprehensive patient care services at grossly subsidized cost or at no cost. The hospital has recently started a cardiac cath lab and is offering the services for angiography, angioplasty and other interventional cardiology facilities. The hospital has further expanded the critical care services, started a nephrology unit with 10 dialysis machines and has all the diagnostic and therapeutic facilities. It has a well equipped central clinical laboratory, high end CT Scan, MRI Machines, 4D ultra sonography, color doppler and other equipments. All the super-specialty services are available in the hospital and specialty facilities like Oncosurgery, joint replacement, neurosurgery etc. are offered by experts in the field. All other facilities like 24 hours emergency services, blood bank, pharmacy etc. are available in the hospital. Teaching and training of the students is done using modern techniques, we follow student centered approach with ample use of ICT, we have recently established high tech simulation centre, one of the first few in the country with number of basic and advanced simulators including the 3G Simman. The simulation centre helps in training of students in life saving skills without jeopardizing patient safety. The central library of the college has a huge collection of text books and reference books. All

the reputed national and international journals are made available to students both as hand copies and in digital form. We have a digital lib with high speed internet connectivity. Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College and Hospital, Sangli was established in 2005. The college has so far admitted 7 batches of 100 students each. The college is recognized by the Medical Council of India and from year 2012 the college has been given permission for an annual intake of 150 students. The college is built in huge edifice & serene atmosphere of Sangli. The college is established in 2.2 lakh sq. ft. specious building. The area for the 750 bedded attached teaching hospital is 3.2 lakh sq. ft. The college has excellent infrastructure, well equipped laboratories; facilities for MRI, C.T. Scan, Mammography, Haemodialysis, Blood Bank with Blood Components etc. are available. The state-of-art museums, library and other teaching learning resources have made it a centre for academic excellence. The institute boasts of qualified and caring staff and advanced instruments ensuring adequate training and keeping pace with the development in Medical field. The institute has received e s s e n t i a l i t y c e r t i f i c a t e f r o m Government of Maharashtra to start M.D/M.S. (P .G. programmes) in all the subjects. The Government of India in concurrence with the Medical Council of India has permitted Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College, Pune to conduct the post graduate courses in the following subjects. Overseas Students Foreign / NRI / PIO / OCI / Management Seats :


Out of the seats sanctioned by the Medical Council of India, for the PG programmes to these colleges, 50% of seats are reserved for Foreign / NRI / PIO / OCI / Management Merit seats. The candidates seeking admissions to these courses on the seats of this category need to purchase the CET Brochure of the University and will also have to apply separately on a prescribed application form. All the Indian students seeking admission on the seats of this category will have to appear for MEDPET 2014 along with regular students. The completed form should be submitted to the Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune. The seats remaining vacant after the allotment of the Foreign / NRI / PIO / OCI Merit students will be allotted to the Indian students who have applied for admissions on the seats of this category, on the basis of merit determined in terms of marks obtained by them in MEDPET 2014. The last date for the submission of application form for the students seeking admissions on the seats of this category is 10th January 2014

Admission Procedure
1. The Admissions to M.D./M.S. and Diploma courses to Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College, Pune and Sangli will be made on the basis of merit obtained by the candidate in medical post graduate entrance test i.e. MEDPET-2014. For Admission to Post Graduate Medical Courses the candidate must secure minimum 50 percent marks and candidate belonging to SC/ST category minimum 40 percent marks in the MEDPET-2014. In case of candidates having equal marks in MEDPET-2014 the following procedure shall be adopted as a tie-breaker. (1) (2) (3) (4) First preference to the candidates on the basis of higher marks obtained in the III M.B.B.S. examination. In case of equal marks in the (1) above, preference will be decided on grand total of marks secured by the candidate at I, II and III M.B.B.S. examinations. If equal, preference shall be decided on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidate at the XII Std. examination in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects taken together. If equal, preference shall be decided on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidate in the X Std. examination.

MEDPET-2014 will be conducted at the centers in Pune, New Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Sangli, Hyderabad and Vadodara at the addresses given on cover 3. The question paper of MEDPET-2014 will contain 200 multiple choice questions of, one best choice type, out of 4 choices. The questions will be on the syllabi prescribed for the I, II and III M.B.B.S. examinations, with more weightage given to clinical subjects. Each correct answer will get 3 marks. There will be no negative marking. No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.

Application Procedure
All candidates are required to enclose the attested photocopies of the following documents duly attested by Principal/Gazetted Officer along with the form i) Statement of marks of I, II and III MBBS examinations. ii) If the candidate is employed, he should submit 'No Objection Certificate' from the employer. iii) Statement of marks of 10+2 or equivalent examination & SSC Certificate. iv) Certificate from the Dean / Principal of the Medical College of the candidate stating, that the College is recognised by the Medical Council of India.

Those who are opting Demand Draft as payment mode for CET Online Registration, Select Demand Draft as Payment Option. a) You are requested to the see table of contents for examination and identify your course. b) The amount shown in the columns of Demand Draft should be noted. Instructions To Candidates
The Test will be conducted at Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College, PuneSatara Road, Pune - 411 043, and on the addresses of the respective centres given on page no. cover 3. The candidate must report at the centre atleast 60 minutes before the time of commencement of examination. THE EXAMINATION HALL WILL BE OPENED 30 MINUTES BEFORE THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE TEST. CANDIDATES ARE EXPECTED TO TAKE THEIR SEATS 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE EXAMINATION. IF THE CANDIDATES DO NOT REPORT IN TIME THEY ARE LIKELY TO MISS SOME OF THE GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO BE ANNOUNCED IN THE EXAMINATION HALL. A candidate who comes late by 30 minutes or more after the commencement of the examination will not be permitted to appear for the examination. The candidate must show, on demand, the Admission Card for admission to the examination hall. A candidate who does not possess the Admission Card issued by the Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed university, Pune will not be admitted to the examination hall under any circumstances by the centre Superintendent. A candidate will not be allowed to carry any textual material, printed or written, bits of papers or any other material except the Admission Card inside the examination hall. Candidates will not be permitted to bring calculators, slide rules, clerk tables, electronic watches with facilities of calculators, laptop computers, mobile phones, personal stereo systems, walkie-talkie sets, paging devices and any other object/device that is likely to be of unfair assistance. No candidate, will be allowed to go outside the examination hall till the completion of the entire duration of examination. Once the candidate leaves the room (even if only to answer a call of nature) he/she will not be readmitted under any circumstances. Candidates are advised to bring with them a card board or a clip board, on which nothing should be written, so that they have no difficulty in writing responses in the answer sheet even if the tables provided in the examination hall do not have smooth surface. They must have their own ball pens, blue or black and erasers of good quality. Smoking in the examination centre is strictly prohibited. Beverages or snacks of any kind are not allowed to be taken into the examination halls during examination hours. Candidates shall maintain perfect silence and attend to their papers only. Any conversation orgesticulation or disturbance in the examination hall shall be deemed as misbehaviour and if a candidate is found using unfair means or impersonation, his/her candidature will be cancelled and he/she will be liable to be debarred for taking examination either permanently or for a specified period according to the nature of offence. During the examination time, the Invigilator will check the Admission Card of the candidates to satisfy himself/herself about the identity of each candidate. The invigilator will also put his/her signature in the place provided in the Answer Sheet on SIDE-1. After completing the test and before handing over the Test Booklet and the Answer Sheet to the invigilator, the candidate should check again that all the particulars required in the Test Booklet and the Answer Sheet have been correctly written. Ensure that the Roll Number, is correctly written in the answer sheet. A warning bell will be given at the beginning of the examination and at the half-time. A warning

Mode of the test


13. The examination will be of 3 hours duration and will consist of one question paper of 600 marks, consisting of 200 questions.

14. The test is objective type. The candidate will be provided with a sealed Test Booklet and an answer sheet. The candidate will write with ball point pen the required information regarding: Name and Roll Number on the Test Booklet and on the answer sheet. 15. In the Test Booklet, there will be 200 questions serially numbered from 001 to 200. Each question will be followed by four responses marked (A), (B), (C) and (D). Of these four responses only one will be the correct or the most appropriate response. Each correct answer will get 3 marks. There is no negative marking. No marks will be deducted for not answered questions.

16. A specimen copy of the answer sheet is given with this brochure. Candidates are advised to go through it and be conversant with the requirement of giving particulars and marking the answers so that during the examination they could do so without any difficulty, mistake or loss of time. The answer sheet used will be of special type which will be scanned on Optical Scanner. There will be two sides of the answer sheet. Side 1 - This side of the answer sheet begins with instructions for marking the responses. The following are then to be filled in with a blue or black ball point pen only, neatly and accurately: Name of the Candidate Roll Number Centre of Examination (city name) Signature of the Candidate This side of the answer sheet also contains the following columns which are to be written/filled in with blue or black ball point pen (Please study the specimen answer sheet appended) Roll Number : Write and Darken (completely filling in) the appropriate boxes corresponding to Roll Number. Changing an answer :
21. If a candidate wants to change any answer on the answer sheet, he/she must completely erase the existing pen or pencil mark and then darken the appropriate box. Candidate must not leave any visible mark after erasing, otherwise the response will be treated as wrong.

Separate merit lists of Regular Merit and Foreign / NRI / PIO / OCI / Management Merit Category of the candidates shall be displayed at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College, Pune-Satara Road, Pune - 411 043. and at offices of Bharati Vidyapeeth University at Pune, Mumbai & Delhi and also will be available on website at www.bvuniversity.edu.in.and www.bharatividyapeethuniversity.net

Reasonable number of candidates in accordance with the merit will be informed and called for counselling. Counselling And On-the-Spot-Admission Session : a) b) Please note that the admissions will be done strictly on the basis of merit and on the availability of seats in Medical College at PUNE and SANGLI as declared in the brouchure. The counselling and on-the-spot admission session will be held at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College, Pune-Satara Road, Pune-411 043 on the date and time communicated individually to the candidates as per the merit list. Only the candidates who have received communication should attend counselling on specified date & time. Only the candidate and one parent/guardian will be allowed into the hall where counselling is held. The candidates will be called in the order of their merit and offered the seats available at that point in time. The candidate will be permitted to choose any of the seats available when his/her turn comes. When all the seats in a given course are filled, admission of students to that course will instantaneously cease and Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University will not be responsible for non-availability of the seats and non-allotment to the rest of the candidates. At the time of reporting for the counselling, the candidate is required to produce the documents (original and two sets of photocopies) listed in above application procedure. If the candidate is admitted to any of the courses, these documents will be retained by the University till he/she completes the course. If the candidate fails to produce the documents listed in Annexure-I, he/she will instantaneously forfeit his claim for a seat. Physical presence of the candidate at the counselling is mandatory. The choice of course made by the candidate is final and binding and will not be altered later under any circumstances. If any candidate finds it impossible to be physically present for the counselling due to unavoidable circumstances, he/she may authorise any other responsible individual to represent him/her at the counselling. This representative must carry with him/her the letter of authorisation in the format given in Annexure II and all the documents mentioned in Annexure-I. If the candidate or his representative fails to report for the counselling on the date and the time mentioned in the schedule of counselling as per the counselling letter, his / her claim for admission to any of the courses will be forfeited. Refund of Fees :
In case of cancellation of Admission the Refund policy will be as. (1) In the event of student withdrawing before the starting of the particular course, the entire fee collected from the student, after a deduction of the processing fee of Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees One thousand only) shall be refunded. If a student submits his application for cancellation of admission in a prescribed form (duly completed) within 15 calendar days from the date of commencement of the particular course, 10 percent of total amount of tuition fees prescribed for the course will be deducted from the amount of tuition fee paid by him and the balance amount will be refunded. If a student submits his application for cancellation of admission in a prescribed form (duly completed within 30 calendar days from the date of commencement of the particular course, 20 percent of the total amount of tuition fees prescribed for the course will be deducted from the amount of tuition fee paid by him and the balance amount will be refunded. If a student submits an application for cancellation of admission after 30 calendar days from the date of commencement of the particular course, no refund will be made and Rule (5) may also be invoked. However, if the application for cancellation of admission is submitted before the last date prescribed for admission, and if the vacated seat is filled by another candidate, 25% of the amount of tuition fees prescribed for the course will be deducted from the amount of tuition fee paid and the balance amount will be refunded. If any student admitted to any course leaves the course after the prescribed last date for admission of the particular course no refund will be made and he will be required to pay full amount of tuition fees for the remaining entire duration of the course. The selected candidate will have to join as full time resident immediately and will not be permitted to do any other job. If he fails to join the course within 15 days after the admission, his admission will automatically get cancelled and he will not be entitled for any refund of fees.

Bond
All the students admitted to MD/MS/Diploma courses of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical Colleges at Pune and Sangli will have to execute a bond in the prescribed format at the time of admission. The bond will necessitate the post graduate students to work as a salaried Senior Resident/ Tutor in the Hospital/College of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University for a period of one year after completion of his/her courses. The bond may be relaxed in case of non-availability of vacancy.

Differences Of Opinions / Dispute With Regard To Rules :


Differences of opinion and disputes arising in the interpretation and implementation of the clauses in this brochure, if any, will be referred to the Vice-Chancellor of the Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune and his decision shall be final and binding.

Court Jurisdiction :
Any legal matters arising out of the admission procedure of the P .G. courses through All India Common Entrance Test of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune-30 i.e. MEDPET-2014 will be under the Jurisdiction of courts at Pune.
