Rustono Faraday, Ssos, M.Med.Kom. Theme: the way lecturer(s) motivate their students. First thing first our purposes to interviewing you is to fullfil the OB assignment. The theme is, how the lecturers can influence the students or event the students can influence the lecturers. First qustion, what subject do you teach? Technological communication,media planning,broadcast journalism, the basic pshcological communication, integrated marketinf communication, interpersonal communication,marketing communication, and ive been teaching in Visual communication design divition and also Information Technology ang Information system. How long have you taught? Ive been teaching for four years,but for this University is 2years. What did you feel when youre teaching in Bunda Mulia University? Felt happy been teaching here, push to do manything, but not expect become superman which can do anything, managing many thing related to resorces,human resources, all of it, the most importhant is nya all i can do do the best. And also explore my students talents, i am also can manage laboratory (maintanance, operational) department not also teaching, encourage the student to attend to any competitions itu my other talents. One of his students is arna got her first winner. Do you use the common method that implemented by most of the lecturers to just teaching without any other motivation or support that provided? No it doesnt, first thing first i did before is start my leasons,they have to know the reasons why i want to be lecturer? First is, i want to share my knowledge to them, sharing my research that ive been through, and also motivate them.

When i was a student like you,many of my lecturers just teaching, didnt gave me any motivation word and i want to change that point of view of lecturer which spread out already with the image of teacher in the elementary,or high school. Theyre gibing theyre best to teach.giving theyre full time for us to learn. But itsnot just about knowledge, human life, how to make a good relation ship with the family, so before i start my class,often i share my story about my life, my organization,my achivement, my experience,my friend, what activity that ive been doing for my entire campus life, so that they got inspired, not only get knowledge and back home and also advice-advice for living this life. Transfering knowledge to them not only tell trhem the knowledge, but also the importances of that study. Fortunately, when i was pursue my bachelor degree, i took afternoon class so that from morning till evening i went work to pay my school fee it was happened till i pursue my master degree. What motivation that provided by the Bunda Mulia University? There are several training that held by this campus, for lecturers there are managerial skill, supervisory skill, and what ive been through is supervisory training which i am in supervisory division. And for the staff there are some training which focusing in operational and technically, the others there are awarding for the best lecturer for each department and for campus, also there are gathering for all of the staff. Is it enough for improving them expertise in their own field? Actually its far from enough, but we are still enjoy this process and still saticfied what theyve been doing. For my self, i got several technique to improve my self ability, is take a value and treat everything as a valuable lessons. for example, today i got several job to do today, there are also a job which isnt suitable for my position, but i never concider how big are the job, or suitable or not the job for me, the value that i absorb is, i learn anything from any kind of job that trusted to me. There are a lot of expectations that put on me, for instances, my father wanted me become the engineer, but i dont expert in that area, but i try to expert in my field which is communication. It isnt about the award that ive been taking but its about the value of the lessons and job ive been doing.

What motivations that can create you till now? So that i can learn many thing from every life that put in this body for every talent that borrowed by God to me, but His wanted to see the fruit of the talent that been borrowed to me. Because when i am die, i am wated to leave a good memory, value, experiences that ive been through to learn by the others. What motivation that brought you to the lecturing field? Sharing and developing my students wo that theyre not smart in the campus but theyre also smart outside. For instances, i try to encourage the accounting student to follow a competition which is accounting incubation which consist of 6stages which has a huge dificulties. To follow this competitiion isnt always about the knowledgeable factors but its also the confidence, the faithfull. There are a lot of thing that i can do when iam becoming the lecturer i push to do manything,it isnt same with the employee who work for the company which expertise in same field and keep on doing it over and over again. There are so many thing that develop my character, when i was working for MLM company which be Diamond Manager and had the subordinate 33 people. And also when iam pursue for my master degree, i had to work in the morning and go back to the campus in the evening, but i always got late go the campus because of the end time of the work is more over the start of campus. In order to avoide being late, i have to get things done before campus start, unfortunetly, i just canr do that, because there are always something i have take care of. What motivation that you get from the staff or the students? When i got inovation from the teacher from my elementary school and senior high school. From the other person which i get the motivation from my exgirlfriend family. Which her father challenge me to persuade my ex-girlfriend brother and sister to go to the college. One thing that i learn from this family is education minded from this family, which endure me to pursue my colege degree. How can you improving your self?

Often i attend the seminary, courses, keep on sharing your knowledge to ther others, because when youre sharing, you get your self keep remembering, maintain your self, taking of every value from every thing.
