Synopsis of Mini Project

The aim of this %ro:e2t is to de;elo% a de;i2e to dete2t rash dri;ing on highwa1s and to alert the traffi2 a$thorities in 2ase of an1 s%eed ;iolation. 822idents d$e to rash dri;ing on highwa1s are on the rise and %eo%le are losing their li;es 'e2a$se of others mista+es. In the %resent s1stem, to dete2t rash dri;ing the %oli2e has to $se a handheld radar g$n and aim at the ;ehi2le to re2ord its s%eed. If the s%eed of the ;ehi2le e<2eeds the s%eed limit, nearest %oli2e station is informed to sto% the s%eeding ;ehi2le. This is an ineffe2ti;e %ro2ess as after dete2ting one has to inform the same and a lot of time is wasted.

The %ro%osed s1stem will 2he2+ on rash dri;ing '1 2al2$lating the s%eed of a ;ehi2le $sing the time ta+en to tra;el 'etween the two set %oints at a fi<ed distan2e. 8 set %oint 2onsists of a %air of sensors 2om%rising of an I= transmitter and an I= re2ei;er, ea2h of whi2h are installed on either sides of the road. The s%eed limit is set '1 the %oli2e who $se the s1stem de%ending $%on the traffi2 at the ;er1 lo2ation. The time ta+en '1 the ;ehi2le to tra;el from one set %oint to the other is 2al2$lated '1 2ontrol 2ir2$it. >ased on that time it then 2al2$lates the s%eed and dis%la1s that on se;en segment dis%la1s. Moreo;er if the ;ehi2le 2rosses the s%eed limit, a '$??er so$nds alerting the %oli2e. This 2on2e%t 2an 'e e<tended in f$t$re '1 integrating a 2amera with the s1stem whi2h 2o$ld 2a%t$re the image of the n$m'er %late of the ;ehi2le to sends that to the traffi2 a$thorities.
