Work Experience Week - May 2013

ATLANTIC PRODUCTIONS

Research work on new productions in development. Sitting in on professional edits due to be aired on Sky One and Sky HD. Scrubbing through footage to find archive clips to log. Sourcing clips from previous productions and archive databases online to use as GVs in new productions. Helping with equipment and the facilities department.

RICOCHET

General office running, paperwork & photocopying. Running items around Brighton back to shops and companies after production had finished. Logging participant agreement forms and location agreements on Excel.

Runner FRATTON film

Duties included crowd control, getting involved with the exterior lighting and assisting the gaffer on set. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of a film set, being active, professional and creative.

Camera Operator for Robot Wars

Camera Crew for Robots: Extreme Wars LIVE! At the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth. Working amongst the general public filming a live spectacular event.

EDUCATION
2011 Present BA (Hons.) Television and Film Production, University of Portsmouth
So far in my degree I have produced three short documentary films and two short dramas. I often take a leading role within these productions, contributing to the producer side, but also the director/camera op roles and I consider myself to be quite technical. I have also created a 10-minute LIVE TV show as part of a team as one of my degree units of which I alternated between Floor Manager and Vision Mixer. I also am required to produce academic Harvard referenced film essays which require a high degree of research and writing skills.

3 A-Levels including Photography (A*), Psychology (A), and Film Studies (B) 13 GCSEs (grades A*-C) including Maths, Science, English, Media, Spanish and Graphics. Received the Pat Eslop Cup for Visual Arts (For my Short Film and Photography work). Received the Photography Prize award for being the only student to receive an A* grade in A Level Photography.

INTERESTS
