1. Overview
Genesis Generation X2 ;short GenX2 or <ust GenX= is a plugin for DAZ Studio 4.6 ;short DS4= to transfer morphs from 0oser legacy figures to !ri&> figures like 2enesis an% +etween %ifferent !ri&> figures. !he transferre% morphs work either relative to the legacy shape morphs for 2enesis availa+le separately at D&' #D or relative to the clone morphs that are transforme% into full morphs with a%<uste% rigging +y 2en?2. !he clone morphs for the D&' generation $ figures ;4ictoria $9 "ichael $9 @i%s $= an% those for 2enesis an% 2enesis 2 are installe% together with the 2enesis an% 2enesis 2 starter essentials. !he clone morphs for other figures are inclu%e% with the legacy morphs pro%ucts. !he 2en?2 pro%uct inclu%es support for the D&' generation $ figures an% 2enesis as sources for morph transfers an% for 2enesis as target. /urther figures are supporte% +y separate a%%8ons. !o transfer morphs from or to 2enesis 2 "ale or /emale9 the 2en?2 &%%On for 2enesis 2 is reAuire%.

Installing, Starting, and Registering Gen

Before you can start 2en?29 you nee% to enter the serial num+er in the plugin %ialog of D($9 which is opene% +y About Installed Plugins... in the Help menu of the main menu. ;Cou nee% to restart D($ after entering the serial num+er.= !hen9 you can open the GenX ta+ from the WindowDTabs menu of D($. !he serial num+er is provi%e% +y D&' #D after purchase. 1.). User Interface

!he 2en? win%ow has three ta+s Trans)er9 Presets9 orp,s. In the Trans)er ta+9 you can loa% a source figure9 apply morph in<ection an% character poses as well as shaping presets9 an% transfer selecte% morphs to one of the supporte% versions of 2enesis. In the Presets ta+9 you may +atch convert one or several character poses or e>pressions in 0oser format or shaping presets in D(OH format to shaping presets that use the morphs transferre% to 2enesis in the Trans)er ta+. !he orp,s ta+ lists all transferre% morphs an% allows to manage them +y ena+lingD%isa+ling morphs9 restoring or removing +ackups9 an% %eleting morph files. !he ta+ menu for 2en? contains an entry to show the a+out %ialog +o> with version information.

"ransfer &rea
On top of the transfer area is the sour"e +utton to select one of the installe% Genesis figures as source for morph transfer. It also contains a list with recently use% 0oser figures that can +e selecte% as source figure. !he fiel% right to this +utton shows the name of the currently loa%e% source figure. Below are +uttons to load a figure in 0oser format ;CR2 or CR'= from the file system an% to appl! one or several pose or e>pression files in 0oser format ;0'29 02'9 /C29 /C'= or shaping presets in D(OH format ;DU/9 D(/= to the loa%e% figure. Cou can also %rag:n:%rop these files from the D($ content li+rary or from an e>ternal file manager. Gith reset9 you unloa% the source figure. Note Ghen creating your own shaping presets for legacy figures9 you nee% to save them as a properties preset an% ena+le the .t,ers ta+9 where the full +o%y morphs are liste%. Note Unlike D($ with "orph ,oa%er9 no in<ection pose are applie% automatically. !he morph list in the center of the transfer area shows the morphs an% controllers of the currently loa%e% figure. It is up%ate% each time you apply a pose9 either to in<ect or remove morphs or to set the %ial values of the morphs. !he fiel% a+ove shows the following information for the morph list " the total num+er of morphsDcontrollers liste% 4 the num+er of morphsDcontrollers with a non8Fero value ! the num+er of morphsDcontrollers selecte% for transfer &t the +ottom9 you can select the trans)er $ode9 the target s,ape9 an% the target )igure. !he sele"t +utton opens a Auick selection menu. Cou initiate the morph transfer with the trans)er +utton. 8*8

Search &rea
Gith the search area9 you can fin% morphs an% controllers in the morph list +y their name. !here are three search mo%es. Cou can search for any occurrence of the entere% te>t ; an!=9 for morphs starting with that te>t ;pre)i3=9 of for the e>act name ;)ull=. $.1. #orph +ist

!he morph list shows the morphs an% controllers that you may transfer. !he first column contains the name of the morph an% a check+o> to select the morph for transfer. !he morphs are groupe% +y actors an% regions. !he group column shows the group for the morph %ial. !he thir% column is for the transfer options an% the controller type ;see +elow=. !he check mark in%icates that the auto )ollow feature shoul% +e activate% for the transferre% morph. !he 2alue column shows the actual %ial value for the morph. Cou can %ou+le click on it to enter a %ifferent value. !he last column %isplays the num+er of %epen%encies9 i.e. the morphs an% parameters that are controlle% +y that morph. Hum+ers in roun% +races are in%irect %epen%encies9 num+ers in sAuare +races are con%itional %epen%encies9 an% num+ers in curly +races are controlle% transforms. Dou+le click on a morph name to open a %ialog with a full list of the %epen%ent morphs. Click on one of the column hea%ers to sort the list for this column. !he controllers are marke% +y the following letters in the thir% row m ;$orp,= a single morph c ;"ontrolling $orp,= a single morph that controls other morphs ;transferre% as one morph= I ;4oint "ontrolled $orp,= a morph that is controlle% +y transform parameters " ;$orp, "ontroller= a controller that controls several morphs ;transferre% as one morph= C ;"ontroller= a controller that controls several morphs ;transferre% as controller= 0 ;pose "ontroller= a controller that controls transform parameters only 1 ;e$pt! "ontroller= a controller that is not supporte% +y 2en? ;e.g. a controller for %eformers9 unuse% morph in<ections9 or control rigs= Note If a morph is marke% as circular9 it can:t +e transferre%9 +ecause some morphs have %epen%encies to themselves. Usually9 it helps to in<ect the morph in 0oser or D($ an% save the figure as a new CR2 to get ri% of the circular %epen%ency.

!hese options help to limit the morph list to those morphs that are reasona+le to transfer. By e>clu%ing some morphs from the list9 it also +ecomes easier to fin% a morph9 +ut some morphs or controllers may +e missing. In most cases9 a morph that is controlle% +y only one parameter is part of a full +o%y morph an% shoul% not +e transferre% alone. !he first three options apply to 0oser figures only9 where morphs may span several actors. In general9 it:s +etter to transfer those morphs as one morph instea% of transferring them for each actor. Note Ghen transferring a single morph from a character pose or shaping preset9 it may +e more save to inclu%e all morphs an% controllers in the list to prevent some morphs are not transferre% +ecause they are not liste%.
