Narative Report for On The Job Training

Company Overview
Galleon Services Company Address: 107 Kamuning road, Quezon City Galleon Services Company is a manpower outsourcing company which involves transferring of employees from one firm to another. Basically, Galleon Services Company is an agency who provides other company most specially supermarkets like SM Supermarket, Puregold, SnR, and other supermarkets here in the Philippines manpower like Merchandisers, Promodisers and Cashiers.

Trainings and Experiences

Basically as an Accounting Staff assistant in the company, like the other trainees are doing, I am with the filing section of the company. Im filing and arranging different receipts, invoices and other documents for the accountant be more efficient and have faster work phase when she needed the documents. As a part of my training, I also face different kind of employees there, there employees who will willingly accepts you easily and there are other who were not. At first, i dont know how to handle those type of person even though I already have a lot of work experience, still its hard to cope up with them especially if they are way too knowledgeable than you are, but after how many days of working with them i did able to cope up with them.

Aside from filing receipts and other documents, another part of the training is distributing pay slips of the employees of the company, like what Im telling a while ago, this company is an outsourcing company, so the merchandisers are coming to get their pay slips. Galleon Services Company is not a big company, so they distributing pay slips manually if the employees want to have it. Another good thing that happens in my training is that my supervisor taught me alot in using MS Excel. All those formulas that she knows, she taught me personally. I am so happy that I'd able to learn all those things that I believe will be a great help for me when I get hired.

And finally, my supervisor gets out of town just before I finish my training, so she endorses me to the HR Department Head because she told me that she already teaches me what should I know about accounting in the work field. In this department, I helped the HR head to face employees, getting their information, resumes, and all other things that are not related in accounting, but then again I just realized that it also plays a vital role when I get to the real work place after I graduated. I mean, as a white collar employee, you should also know what are the needs, experiences and the personality of other people especially those laborers like those merchandisers and promodisers. Yes, maybe it is not related to what should I learn as a future accountant but still we should experience what other people are experiencing because it will soon teach us how to understand them.

I have learned a lot in this company, not only the things that I should know about my future work as an accountant but also how to understand other people and their need of work because of their status quo.
