The Works Film istribution UK were established in !""# and are one of the UK$s leading film distribution companies who specialise in independent feature films% This company would be the ideal distribution ser&ice because many of the films they distribute are of similar genres and themes% The success of these films will gi&e me the confidence that they will be able to make '(old (ase$ another great hit% The Works distribute to cinemas and also put films onto ) % They don$t *ust cater for the UK but all o&er +urope and other continents such as ,sia% The work on foreign films as well as independent films and put them together with well known actors such as -ack .lack who starred in .ernie but they also work with less known actors% , film which they ha&e distributed which has similar themes in them is a film called Take /helter% 0t is about an apocalyptic film but it focuses on the man$s an1iety into his obsession to build a storm shelter to try and sur&i&e% This film won 33 awards and was nominated for e&en more as well% This shows the type of films they distribute are hits with the audience and shows that our film can also be this successful% This film meets the primary age range of our film because it was most popular with under 23$s and its second most popular ratings came from the ages of 23-!4 which closely relates to my thriller% 5owe&er6 this film did pro&e more of a hit for males which shows that our film is also going to be seen by many males% ,nother film is The .roken% The main character in this is a female which instantly relates to our thriller% This film was seen deemed as most appealing to males under the age of 23% This closely links to our age range which shows another film they ha&e distributed which continues to create a &alid reason to distribute my thriller to them% ,n other film similar to this is -ar (ity which has a female protagonist and the main age range was males and females under 23 and this was by a distance% Thr3e is yet again another film which is mainly aimed at under 23$s so the 2#-23 year olds are predominantly going to watch this which is within our age range but it was also popular but not as popular with 24-!7 year olds6 which adding these together6 gi&e me my primary age range% This film is about a psychopathic murderer who plays games with three innocent characters and it is a matter of life or death with the demon male stalking them all of the way% This final film 0 am going to mention is called ,shes and looking on 08 . at its information and ratings this film is not the most popular which can cause a problem but it has themes which can be worked on in order to make this film a big hit% This is a part psychological thriller and part contemporary film noir which is what my thriller is% The themes are e1actly the same which can be the influence to see this film% ,lthough it is dominated by males6 the themes are similar which are a benefit to understand the success of this film% This film came straight out onto ) which isn$t what 0 am looking to do as mine will be premiered in cinemas% 5a&ing mentioned the success not being as high as it could be6 the primary age range was the ages of under 23 which is related to my thriller% ,lthough the age range was more significant to males than females6 the o&erall rating was preferred by females%
