Horizons Clinical Research Center, LLC is a local Denver research center dedicated to conducting clinical research trials in the areas of dermatology, womens health, and internal medicine. These studies are conducted for a number of prestigious US and International pharmaceutical companies who trust in the quality and integrity of our work. Our physicians are highly experienced in their specialties and in conducting clinical trials. The studies that we conduct are for investigational medications that have already passed the first human testing phase and perhaps have already received FDA approval. Our Mission: Our mission is to provide high quality and reliable clinical research data to the pharmaceutical companies striving to advance todays medicine, while rigorously maintaining the safety, well-being and confidentiality of our volunteer patients. Our Study Population: A large portion of the population in Denver consists of Spanish speakers (approximately 35%). The clinical studies we conduct offer numerous benefits to those who volunteer to participate in them and to not offer the benefits of clinical research to a large portion of the population would not be fair. Therefore, many of our full-time staff and coordinators are bilingual in English and Spanish enabling us to recruit volunteers from each segment of the population. Bill Arnold has been the Business Manager for HCRC since the Centers inception in early 2007. Among his responsibilities are: the company finances; data management; website design, creation, and maintenance; volunteer recruitment; marketing, human resources, and management of the Centers facilities and information technology. In addition to his duties at HCRC Bill was also a member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at National Jewish Health for two years. Bill graduated in 1995 from Southern New Hampshire University at the top of his class with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business. In 1996 he became the Assistant Director of an international language center in Santiago, Chile and was in charge of the Scheduling Department, Study Abroad Department, marketing of the Study Abroad Program, and management of over 80 teachers. In the fall of 2000 Bill accepted the position of Director of Admissions at the language centers headquarters in Denver, Colorado and moved back to the United States with his fiance, Isabel. During the following four and a half years Bill was responsible for the sales and admissions for the companys schools in Denver, Colorado; Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and affiliated schools throughout Latin America and Spain. He also participated significantly in the international marketing of the language programs, website design, and creation of brochures and

other marketing materials. In the fall of 2004 Bill started his own real estate investment company and within a few months began devoting his full attention to his new business. After three successful years in real estate investing Bill now devotes his time and energies to his duties at HCRC. Outside of work Bill and Isabel enjoy international travel, landscaping and remodeling their home, hiking in the Rockies, and of course a fine glass of Chilean wine in the evening.

Our goal at HCRC is to provide the highest quality study results possible to the sponsors and CROs that we work with while ensuring the protection of the rights and safety of the subjects who participate in our studies. The fact that we have an excellent reputation for the service we provide is due to the knowledge, skills, and integrity of our director, Isabel Arnold RN, BSN, CCRC. We know that the key to providing quality service depends to a large extent on the quality of the CRCs that conduct our studies. It is for that reason that Isabel puts so much time and effort into personally training the health care professionals we hire who are new to research or in retraining CRCs we hire who have previous experience. In addition to training each and every new CRC we employ she then continues to mentor them with the goal that we have the best trained research professionals possible. Although this method of acquiring high quality professional CRCs is time consuming and requires a great deal of effort on the part of Isabel she feels it is worth it if we attain our goal of having a highly trained staff of CRCs who truly care about the quality of their work. Horizons Clinical Research Center, LLC is a modern and well equipped 3,000 square foot facility designed specifically to conduct clinical research studies. The facility consists of a pleasant lobby and reception area, two patient exam rooms, three clinical research coordinator offices, one private monitoring office, laboratory, two secured storage rooms with temperature control (one for study medication and the other for archiving study material), break room and kitchen. The center complies with all the federal regulations for clinical research making it an effective, confidential and secure place to conduct clinical trials. HCRC selects only highly qualified, experienced and enthusiastic physicians who enjoy learning and practicing cutting-edge medicine while adding a new dimension to their experience and knowledge as physicians through participation in clinical trials. HCRC is responsible for their training and certification in the Good Clinical Practice guidelines developed by the International Conference of Harmonization to assure that they have acquired the necessary knowledge to be Principal Investigators. HCRC selects only highly qualified, experienced and enthusiastic physicians who enjoy learning and practicing cutting-edge medicine while adding a new dimension to their experience and knowledge as physicians through participation in clinical trials.
