Glenn Howells RIBA. Director, Glenn Howells Architects: Projects
As an Architect and director of this cutting-edge practice successfully delivering qualitative contemporary homes, Glenn will present some of their exemplar projects and talk about the approach of his practice. We have always collaborated closely with manufacturers and other organisations to research and develop the most appropriate and innovative design and building solutions for clients. These relationships help to create better buildings. http://www.glennhowells.co.uk

Dr Regina Bittner. Bauhaus Dessau: From Housing to Habitat In the architectural debates of the postwar years the everyday became an important referential category to rethink the modern movements legacy Habitat was a critical category within that debate, integrating non-European practices and routines of dwelling and house-holding into western architectural thinking. The lecture discusses the underlying normative values and cultural contexts, articulated within that critical discourse and asks how this search for a new thinking of the architects commitment towards Habitat could inspire contemporary debate and projects on housing. Nick Ray RIBA. Reader Emeritus, Cambridge University:

Housing as Pattern and Process some English historical types Heidegger was not the first thinker (neither was he the only, nor will he be the last) to refer to the notion that dwelling constitutes the core of what it is to be in the world, and that there is therefore no greater responsibility than building the home, creating the domestic setting for the life that is to be lived. Nina Edge. Welsh Streets Home Group: Renewing Area Renewal

Artist and designer Nina Edge became a founding member of the Welsh Streets Home Group in 2004. She ran a high-profile campaign against a scheme to demolish thousands of houses, many of which were occupied. She is developing new forms of design mediation and community participation that bring architects and community food networks into a debate originally confined to the idea of housing as a 'market'. http://www.welshstreets.co.uk/
