QQC- AN ETHIC OF EXCELLENCE Sadhana Ghetiya CF:SarvashresthaPatel

QUOTE: page-6

The key to Excellence is this: It is born from a culture. When children enter a family culture, a community culture, or a school culture that demands and supports excellence, they work to fit into that culture. A culture of excellence transcends race, class and geography, it doesnt matter what color, income, or background the children come from, Once those children enter a culture with a powerful ethic, that ethic becomes their norms.
It is truly said, the key to Excellence is born from a culture, a child learns manners from his home, school and society in which he lives. The manner and ethics that a child learns from the culture moulds his character and also motivates him to achieve the goals set by himself. It is this ethics that later in his life helps him to become an Ideal citizen and the future of the society. This ethics that he learns from his culture helps him to build his self - esteem and makes him believe in self. It inspires me as a teacher to help my students to carry out research and projects that help them to learn but also develop their character. Questions: 1. How will I inspire, challenge and motivate my students to cultivate growth and confidence to shape their culture. 2. How will I help them to learn good work skills, high quality standards and a strong work ethics.

COMMENT: I enjoyed reading this book a lot, It shooked me, and made me rethink, do I really help my students to craft the values of ethics and culture. Ron Berger is a true teacher who has carved the ethics and culture in his students. Here I

would like to say that teachers should be less burdened with the syllabus so the learning happen more deeply where students have enough time to learn and explore the topic. 2nd QQC : QUOTE: "It is through their own work that their self-esteem will grow," pg-65

Its true that when students succeeds or finds that he or she is capable of excellence, They starts working more harder and perfectly . They never turn back and wait for someone to guide them . There is a new self-image, a new notion of possibility. After students have had a taste of excellence they are never satisfied with less. They are always hungry, to attain the excellence. Their self confidence rises only when they do something they can value.

Question : 1. How will I help my students do something that they can value . 2. How to create opportunities were they become self dependent.

Comment : I feel that we need to build strategies for building Work of Excellence. We need to provide practical examples and suggestion for improving the quality of student work and thinking. We need to start thinking critically how to make them achieve work of Excellence. By making them self dependent .When they begin to help others work, start producing work of real quality that impresses their friends, a new self image as an excellent student will emerge. Which makes them feel like proud students.
