Intermountain Salt Lake Clinic 333 S 900 E Salt Lake, Utah During my externship as a Medical Assistant I served in a variety of clinics within Intermountain Salt Lake Clinic and completed 180 hours of service. I started off in Obstetrics and Gynecology where I was able to practice skills such as vital signs, Urine screening, assist in Colposcopys, loop electrosurgical excision procedures and tray set ups for Pap Smear as well as Ob exams. I then after two weeks rotated to Internal Medicine where I was able to extent my learning while also practicing manual blood pressures and O2 stats as well as participating in Ear irrigation and giving injections. My Final rotation where I stayed for the remainder of May was Pediatrics. There I received to most practice and learning being that I dealt with children. I was able to learn how to conduct Well Child Checks and Missionary Screenings which both include: Height and Weight, Vision Screens, Blood Pressure, and sending for any blood work that needed to be done. I was also able to practice TB testing, participate in a circumcision, catheterization, ear irrigation, a lot of electronic charting and growth chart, as well as drawing up and giving injections from ages Newborn 21years old Subcutaneously Intramuscularly, and Intradermal.
