Green Card Application - Fake Marriage

You have been requesting a green card for the last five years, and have been rejected each time you have
tried. Luckily for you, you have a very close friend that lives in Canada and has come up with a great idea.
He/she has offered to marry you in Canada to help you get in the country to work. Up to now, everything
has gone exceptionally well. All of the documents are complete, and have been approved. There is only
one step left before the Canadian government allows you to get your Visa to get married, which is also the
most difficult and dangerous; The Interview!
During this process you will be interviewed by a group of agents who will be looking for holes in your
story. They will also expect you to know the details about your relationship history, as well as obvious
information such as family and close friends.
There is risk with trying this. If either of you get caught lying, you will surely be arrested and heavily fined.
This means that you will need to cover all of the details to make sure this does not happen. You will be
separated during the interview process, and will have no idea as to what questions will be asked. Good
luck!

Green Card Instructions

Part 1 - Introduce the concept
Part 2 - Split class in two groups. Both groups pretend they are lying on a Green card application by saying
they are siblings. One of them lives in Canada, and is trying to get her best friend who has been dinied a
Visa in by lying to the Canadian government. They have to get their stories straight because they will be
interviewed by the Canadian government. So they should know obvious detailes like bdays, family names
(father's name and such), childhood history such as home they grew up in and their neighborhood.
Part 3 - Now they pretend they will be agents trying to catch applicants who are lying. They have to write
seven questions to BUST the applicants. They can't ask questions that should not be obvious (Does he like
pepper?).
Part 4 - Team one interogates team two in different rooms! Without coming back to class, students switch
roles.
Part 5 - Original teams get back together to compare answers.
Part 6 - Students present number of errors other group made. Team with the least errors wins!
