Good Friday services are observed by Christians around the world as they reflect upon the sobering events of that Friday some 2,000 years ago when the Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died on the cross for us and for our salvation. The service will be approximately 1 hour long, and will include various readings and songs that help tell the story and explain the significance of this great act of love. The season of Lent (from the Latin meaning Spring) is a time of the year in which Christians from all kinds of backgrounds set aside time to reflect upon the meaning of the death of Jesus (the season covers the 40 days leading up to the celebration of Easter beginning on Wed, Mar 5 and concluding on Sunday, April 20). During our Sundays together this season of Lent, well journey through a study called, Keeping in Step with the Spirit, as we look at the Person and Work of the Holy Spirit. Before His death, Jesus promised to give us His Spirit, Gods personal presence who enables us to live the Christian life.
