e-WOOF is a bi-monthly

e-newsletter produced by a small group of Wyoming dog rescuers in an effort to highlight shelter dogs in critical need of help.

Park County Animal Shelter -- Cody, WY Contact: 307-587-5110 or manager@parkcountyanimalshelter.com NOVA is a 1 year old Lab/Border Collie. She is a very friendly and sweet girl! She came to us as a stray from the county and we dont know too much about her. She has gone to the dog park and we know that she plays very well with other dogs! She would make a wonderful family companion, as she is very gentle! BARKLEY is a handsome 1-2 year old Shepherd/Rottweiler mix.
He has lots of energy and loves to play, but also is a huge lover! He thinks he is a lap dog, and just wants to be close to you. He would probably be best in a home without cats or small children; his energy level may be a little intimidating for a small child. He is still very much a puppy who would need a little bit of training but he has the potential to be a wonderful dog! NOVA

e-WOOF spotlights many dogs that face euthanasia within days unless they are rescued, fostered, or adopted.
Transport can be arranged, in most cases, to approved adoptive or foster homes or rescue organizations. Please help us! These are good, healthy, happy, loving dogs that are out of luck and out of time. We urge you to crosspost to e-mail lists and Web groups, forward to friends, send to co-workers, and share with family. We hope our efforts, combined with yours, will save many lives.

SOPHIA is a 2 year old Lab/Border Collie mix. Poor Sophia had a bit of a colorful past with an owner who abused her, so she can be a little timid at first. Once you arent a stranger anymore it is hard to tell she had ever been abused! Boxer/possibly Labrador Retriever mix. He may seem a little nervous and loud, but it doesnt take long for Colton to show you he has love for you. He gets along okay with other dogs but would do best in a home with no cats. Colton likes to stand up and give hugs, enjoys walks, and loves kids. He is totally housebroken. He came in with COLTON Pita, a Dachshund/Pomeranian mix, and is very gentle and protective of her. He loves his girl and will follow her off leash if youre walking her on leash. They would prefer to go to the same home but can be adopted separately.

Pita likes to be held. She is a little overweight, but she agrees to work on that with walks, which she loves. She may seem shy, but does wonderfully once she gets to know you. Pita gets along okay with other dogs, but not with cats. She is also great with kids and is totally housebroken.

MILES is a small black twenty-two-month-old Kelpie/Aussie mix

who had not been handled or played with as a pup. Since he came in October, we have been working hard to get him used to human interaction and enjoying attention. He has really come a long ways and is now walking on a leash and coming up to people he knows. He is a very nice dog and never showed any aggression even though he was terrified. He is always wagging his little stubby tail and wiggles his whole body to show how much he likes your attention. He might do best in a quiet home as the only dog and most definitely needs a very gentle, patient person.

MILES

Shunka is a handsome one-year-old puppy. We have no clue

which breeds might be behind himhes a true Heinz 57! He loves all ages of people and is good with children, other dogs, and cats. He enjoys playing, going for walks, and car rides. Shunka is partially housetrained and is working on basic obedience commands. With a little time and work he will make a great family pet. ____________

enjoy having a young-at-heart, happy, playful pup with them. Sarge is almost perfect in every way. He has personality; is obedience trained; is crate trained (although he has good house manners and doesnt need to be kenneled); is good with other dogs (big or small), older children and, yes, even cats. He loves to play fetch, has tremendous focus, and this boy will bring it back for you to throw again. Sarge loves walking, hiking, playing in the water, and catching sticks. Sarge does have a few health issues that he has lived with all his life, none of which are life threatening. Due to allergies he is prone to ear infections, needs grain free food, and takes Benadryl. This is a very happy, secure guy who will make any family thrilled to have him as part of their lives. He is neutered and current on shots.

SHUNKA

Wow, check out those choppers! Puppies have 28 teeth and normal adult dogs have 42.

SARGE

LOUIE is 9 years old and is such a happy, loving, playful boy who still acts like a youngster at heart. He is good in the house, knows his commands, loves to play fetch, go for walks, and car rides. Louie is good with children and other dogs having grown up with both. But because of his age he would do better in a home with older kids or no kids. And if you have another dog maybe one that is close to his own age for companionship, but he would also be just fine as the only 4-legged friend. He is a loving, affectionate boy who will sing to you when you give him a hug or rub his ears and follow you everywhere. Louie is in good health and looking for a loving family to include him as part of the family and take him for daily walks and spend short times of playing fetch. He also enjoys hanging with you in the house or staying close when you are outside doing chores. Even though he is active for his age, please keep in mind that he is a senior dog and tires quickly. Can you find it in your heart to give this wonderful boy a home to retire in? He is neutered, current on shots and house trained.

Black Dog Animal Rescue - Cheyenne, WY Contact: 307-214-6600 or bdar@bdar.org LOGAN is what you might call an old soul dog. He enjoys a
causal walk and does not pull terribly on his leash. Logan is house and crate trained and gets along well with other dogs and cats. He prefers to supervise the rambunctious play of his foster siblings rather than join in the rough housing, but when it comes time to settle and snooze, Logan rather enjoys the company of the other dogs. If youre looking for a handsome, couch hogging, sports fan, look no further than Logan! Hes a great companion for almost anyone.

POTTER loves to play. He is a rough and tumble kind of guy and for this reason we are recommending a home with kids 10 years or older. He also really enjoys going for walks and runs although does best when on a gentle leader. He likes to follow the cat around the house and is learning to be nice to her. Potter has some really great manners and knows come, sit, lay-down, off, stay, shake, roll-over, and is working on kennel. He is kennel trained although would prefer to be out playing or snugged up by your side. If youre looking for a dog to bring your family lots of laugh, Potter may be your guy! TIA is a sweet dog who can be timid of new situations but she
is learning that life isnt so scary. She loves to go for walks but sometimes she gets tangled because she likes to smell everything possible. She is a calm, sweet dog who likes to spend her days relaxing and napping. She is working on house training, and is making consistent progress. She gets along with other animals, to include the cat in her foster home. She would like to go to a home where she could have a dog-sibling!
