The purpose of this presentation is to help teach shapes by the number of faces and angles it has. We will look at triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and cubes.

Learning objective: Given this powerpoint, that contains interactive games, the student will be able to clearly identify shapes with 100% accuracy.
Standard: Recognize and draw shapes having specified attributes, such as a given number of angles or a given number of equal faces. Identify triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and cubes. Accomplishment: This powerpoint will accomplish the demonstration of shapes based on the number of angles and faces.

An angle is the inside corner of a shape.

COUNT THE ANGLES YOU CAN SEE FOR EACH SHAPE

A face is the flat surface of the shape. Three dimensional shapes have more than one face.

COUNT THE FACES YOU CAN SEE ON EACH SHAPE

A circle has no angles and one face.

WHAT DID YOU LEARN???

You learned how to differentiate between a circle, triangle, quadrilateral, pentagon, hexagon, and cube, based on the characteristics. A circle has no angles and one face like a penguin. A triangle has three angles and one face like a cats ears. A quadrilateral has four angles and one face like a dogs body. A pentagon has five angles and one face like a lions mane.

A hexagon has six angles and one face like a bees hive.
A cube has twenty-four angles and six faces like Perry the Platypus.
