About the Exhibition To celebrate the 35th anniversary of Islamic Revolution in Iran, an exhibition was organized by the Embassy

The event was comprised of a number of Iranian art and craft pieces, a wide range of books, embroideries exhibition, miniature, rugs, decoration pieces, mosaic work, samples of holy Quran, paintings and calligraphic, miniature workshop. The motive of this Exhibition was to make people of Pakistan aware of the positive changes that took place after 1978s revolution. The main gallery of the arts council was covered with photographs, paintings and Iranian artifacts. The event was inaugurated with a ribbon cutting by the Ambassador of Iran, Mashallah Shakeri and Director General PNCA Tauqeer Nasir. a collage of photographs Titled The Progress of Iran after revolution, was displayed in the main hall. In the main gallery, calligraphy by Ahmad Timouri, a well-known Iranian calligraphist, was displayed. Calligraphy was made with dull colors of beige and brown and preserved in golden frames. Large paintings by Kumars Ghurchian of vivid colors were also displayed in the main gallery. More paintings by renowned Iranian miniaturist Mohmammad Khazaee were also on display. To display the culture of Iran through art, detailed Iranian art work called inlaid work on items such as jewelry boxes, mirrors, clocks were also on display. Most of the paintings were kept on sale where the prices were ranging from twenty dollars to two hundred dollars. Books, DVDs, pottery, Iranian clothes and photographs were also there for sale. A group of artists and painters from Iran was present on this occasion. The group included translators to explain each painting and all the other forms of art to the Pakistanis. Some of them were performing live craft, and explained what and how they are doing. The visitors were fascinated to see the artisan quickly and smoothly work on microscopic details of the design very comfortably. Painting Selected We were assigned to choose our favorite painting from the gallery and to write a note on it. The painting which I liked was calligraphy in Persian words. The background of this painting has Tea Wash touch, while letters of calligraphy are bold. Letters are in dark brown color with prominent curves which adds style and excellence to this piece of art. Though the painting looks simple but still it is unique.
