Task 3,case 1 Question a Having read all the details mentioned in the scenario based question very minutely

and carefully, over and over again, I have reached to a decision. If I were in such a situation, I would definitely let the project go on. This may sound astonishing but Ill try to explain and justify my decision in the following lines. Firstly, I am in a position where I need money for my comfort and to meet my needs as well. That allows me to accept the opportunity of keep working. I am not the absolute intellect. Although I am confident of my intellect, yet I believe in the collective wisdom. If my colleagues are working in XYZ Corporation and they dont see anything wrong with the objectives of the project, this definitely means that I need to review my understanding of the objectives of the project, mentioned in the given details of the scenario project. Question b This situation based scenario and consequent questions come under the topic of situational ethics. Situational Ethics work on four principles. The first principle of situational ethic is Pragmatism. This principle states that the course of action taken must be practical and work. My decision to stay in XYZ Corporation is perfectly a practical decision based on reality and it will work definitely. Had I chosen to leave, against the advice of my colleagues, I would have been wrong or short sighted in judging the objectives of the project and might suffer in the long run. That decision would be against the logic as well. Situational ethics principle

of relativism also applies here. Since evil is not an absolute concept. Lets suppose, jut for a second that the objectives of the project were detrimental to humanity and that the new missile program could destroy a large population. But each country has the right to defend and to repel evil with evil i.e. war cant be categorized as something wrong, since principle of Relativism states that situations are relative, not absolute. Situational Ethics principle of Personalism is also relevant to this case because if XYZ corporation is doing some project, the objective of which appear to be wrong apparently, why is law permitting that Corporation to work on such project. As I said earlier, situations are always relative and not absolute; I should be only concerned with what the law of my country says. Laws are for the benefit of people. If the law of my country permits to work on such a project, it means that there is no harm feared to the citizen of my country and thats what I care about. Also, the utilitarianism theory encircles this situation very well. The theory of utilitarianism states that the placement of locus of right or wrong outcome depends upon on the result of choosing one course of action or option, over others. If I had chosen to quit, Id be possibly going from one organization to another to find a job and still end up nowhere since in such cases people taking such decisions are often blacklisted officially and it is hard for them to get employed again in some well reputed firm or organization. Also, it wasnt evident that whether the objectives were wrong absolutely. Judging it with the attitude of majority of my colleagues, I was right in making the decision. Had I quit and the

decision would turn out to be a wrong one, the regret would always remain with me and haunt my mind.
