It has come to my attention that teacher Dale Rogers (no relation to Bill Rogers), who is running against me for the State Representative seat of the 42nd District, is a recent contributor to both Democrat Mark Schauer and the MEA (Michigan's Teachers' Union). Dale, however, is running as a Republican.

In my opinion, Dale's campaign is potentially fraudulent, and the voters should know. In my opinion, if Dale cannot be trusted now, how can he be trusted in Lansing.

Thank you for alerting me to Nicks accusations. It is sad that an educated person like Nick cannot properly interpret the results of the research he has presented.

Its ironic that Nick is making these accusations regarding my political affiliation because when I ran for the Michigan House of Representatives in 2012, I didnt receive very much support from teachers in Livingston County or from the teachers in my own district of Novi because I am a Republican.

In late September of 2013 when I was considering another run for the Michigan House of Representatives, I was invited to a meet and greet event for Mark Schauer where a large number of Livingston County teachers would also be in attendance. During my campaign in 2012, I did not have many opportunities to introduce myself to the local teachers to gain their support so I thought this event would be a good time to do so.

The cost to attend the event was $25. I invited one of my supporters from Novi High School to attend with me hence the reason for my contribution on the record as being $50. The person that attended with me did reimburse me for their portion of the expense.

However, I have not been a contributor to the Michigan Education Association Political Action Committee (PAC) as Nick implies by his reference to the Michigan Campaign Finance Contribution search results. If you notice, the Dale Rogers that Nick is referring to in regard to those contributions lives in Big Rapids. That is not me. I do not now or have ever lived in Big Rapids.

I would like to think someone as educated as Nick Fiani would realize in a state of almost 10 million people that there might be more than one Dale Rogers.

What is not mentioned in the Secretary of States Campaign Finance Contribution search results is the fact that over the last few years I have supported and donated to various conservative causes including but not limited to Joe Hunes State Senate campaign, Pete Hoekstras campaign for governor, the Livingston County GOP, and the Hartland Tea Party.

Anyone that knows me will attest that I am a conservative person, both in politics and in my personal lifestyle. People that know me know I am pro-personal responsibility, pro-2 Amendment, pro-life, fiscally conservative, and fiscally responsible. But yes, I am also a public school teacher and support quality efforts to improve public education while objecting to efforts that will harm public education. And yes, because I am a teacher I seek the support of teachers

But at the same time, I am not afraid to disagree with Republican legislative policies when I believe they violate conservative principles, hence my reason for running for this same office in 2012. I truly believe an examination of my publicized advocacy writings and public postings on social networking sites will reveal that.

I am offended and angered that Nick Fiani questions my integrity and accuses me of running a fraudulent campaign especially when it is based on faulty research. He should be embarrassed and ashamed.
