The biggest threat to global stability is the potential for food crises in poor countries to cause government collapse.

Those crises are brought on by ever worsening environmental degradation. The three environmental trends: shortage of freshwater , loss of topsoil and the rising temperatures ( and other effects) of global warming are making it increasingly hard to expand the worlds grain supply fast enough to keep up with demand. The spread of water shortages poses the most immediate threat. Irrigation Is a big challenge. Consumes 70% percent of the worlds fresh water. The greatest drain on supplies of freshwater is irrigation, which accounts for 70 percent of freshwater usage. Irrigation is essential to most high-yield farming, but many aquifers that supply irrigated crops are being drawn down faster than rain can recharge them. Food scarcity and the resulting higher food prices are pushing poor countries into chaos.

Such failed states can export disease, terrorism, illicit drugs, weapons and refugees.

Water shortages, soil losses and rising temperatures from global warming are placing severe limits on food production. Without massive and rapid intervention to address these three environmental factors, the author argues, a series of government collapses could threaten the world order.

B. Food scarcity and the resulting higher good prices are pushing poor countries into chaos. Such Failed states can export disease, terrorism, illicit drugs, weapons and refugees. Water shortages, soil losses and rising temperatures from global warming are placing severe limits on food production and without massive and rapid intervention to address these environmental factors, the author argues a series of government collapses could threaten the world order. The absolute number and the percentage of chronically under nourished people in the worlds 70 least developed countries are climbing, while the worlds back up food supply of carryover stocks is declining. All of the factors of food shortages add up to one huge problem, POPULATION GROWTH

C. The fact that Food shortages have the capability to bring down civilization, cause government to collapse and affect other countries bordering them on issues such as spreading disease, offering sanctuary to terrorists and pirates, spreading the sale of drugs and weapons, fostering political extremism, generating violence and many more problems is so surprising and sad. But the author provides plan B- our only option, a civilization saving. Plan B is a very detailed plan but capable of saving as all.

So what? Food shortage is the main cause for the collapsing of different countries in different aspects. Says Who? Lester R. Brown What if? What If all countries in the world have enough food? What does this remind me of? Reality, The fact that just because we are living a good life doesnt mean others are.
