Burner Boom system
The Expro Burner Boom reflects innovated technology for durability and reliability. The Expro booms are offered in vertical and horizontal racking capabilities, along with advanced operational criteria.
A typical boom package consists of the boom, mast, burner platform, and rigging. We also offer Hull integration engineering to meet Hull classification authorities. Booms are mounted on an offshore rig and used to extend the crude oil burner and gas flare a set distance from the Hull, to allow the produced hydrocarbons to be flared safely and to minimize the radiated heat away from the Hull. The boom has been extensively analyzed / modeled to provide improved operational capabilities over typical traditional booms. Expro boom support masts come in two engineered configurations: Horizontal support type mast and racking of the boom structure from operation mode horizontally to stowed mode horizontally back against the hull, or Vertical support type mast for racking and deploying the boom from vertical to horizontal operation position. Vertical support type mast reduces the footprint on the hull when the boom is stowed vertically. The unique design allows the boom to be deployed and stowed very efficiently through and integrated hoisting system. Expro also offers industry compliant ladder and platform system for inspection and maintenance of the masts and rigging. The boom is a modular / scalable u-shaped truss assembly that is easily transported. A stronger mast is attached to the rig structure and braced with tie-back struts. Suspension cables and wind stays support the boom during operational conditions so a rig crane is not necessary.

Features & benefits:

Modular design scalable boom sections available in 60ft, 90ft and 120ft. A burner
platform is additional to boom length

A cradle on mast makes for easy attachment of boom for installation Process pipe work available in different sizes and configurations Water shielding options are scalable to meet customer heat mitigation requirements Vertical racking option provides small footprint for storage Mast meets OSHA, Norsok type approved ladder and platform compliance Both mast designs provide easy deployment and storage

Sea Emerald Burner technology
The Sea Emerald well test burner provides a clean, efficient disposal of produced oil/ well affluent during well test operations / cleanup work.
The Sea Emerald well test burner provides a clean, efficient disposal of produced oil / well affluent during well test operations/ cleanup work. An independent environmental laboratory test found that the Sea Emerald Burner operates at 99.993% efficiency under a wide range of conditions. The burners have a unique nozzle design that uses compressed air to atomize the oil in a mixing chamber. Internal air mix atomizers produce much smaller hydrocarbon droplets than conventional burners. Smaller droplets burn faster, eliminating the potential for raw hydrocarbons to fall out of the flame. Carefully positioned multiple burner tips create maximum flame turbulence and air ingestion. Multiple tips discharge the well affluent in a unique array. The combination of atomized droplets and maximum air ingestion makes the burn very clean. An efficient pilot system with remote igniters provides the ignition source for the finely atomized spray.

Benefits: Onshore and offshore oil and gas well testing and clean-up operations Highly efficient, environmentally friendly; third-party rated at 99.993% efficient Modular design can be used in multiples configurations to match the anticipated flow rates Stable pilot assembly provide reliable ignition source Low oil pressure reduces pump capacity requirements and air pressure Clean start up, wide turndown ratio, simple operation

Super Green Burner
Expros award winning Super Green Burners offer the latest technology for clean burning produced crude oil. The Super Green Burner head is modular in design. Each head can burn up to 4,000 barrels of crude oil.
Multiple heads can be packaged in one burner assembly depending on maximum crude oil burn rates. Typical configurations are one headed burner assembly (4,000 barrels per day), two headed burner assembly (8,000 barrels per day), three headed burner assembly (12,000 barrels per day). Electronic ignitor systems are included with the burner assembly. For safety and to minimize heat radiation, the operator will always attempt to maintain a burn in a downwind direction from the facility. However, consideration should be given to the application. If the burner(s) and boom(s) assembly are to be fitted to a barge or drillship, it is likely that the vessel will face into the weather. On most modern drillships and barges, the boom and burner is installed toward the aft section of the vessel so if the burner and boom are far enough aft it may be possible to employ a single boom and burner assembly. Typically for platforms, boom and burner systems are required on opposite sides of the platform to allow diverting well effluent flow to the downwind burner assembly for minimizing heat radiation on to the rig. Gas is not flared through the crude oil burner. The gas should be flared from a separate flare line installed within the boom structure and not included with the Super Green Burner.

Surface well test equipment
As a major supplier of well testing equipment, Expro provides a range of systems suited to specific testing environments and has a proven track record. Expro well testing equipment allows easy expansion of modules to handle future increasing and changing process conditions.
The pressure control is handled through an upstream test tree, ESD valve, data headers, choke manifold and HP pipework. Inlet and outlet data headers allow the safe monitoring of high pressure process conditions. The process stream, once choked down through the choke manifold, passes through a heat exchange designed to raise the temperature of the process fluids for better downstream separation. The test process stream continues on to the test separator, allowing the individual testing of wells for monitoring production rates. Safety systems consist of a closed loop ESD system providing manual and automatic safety shut-down. This is in addition to the relief valve and rupture disks integrated into the process equipment. Real-time monitoring of process conditions is handled by the Expro Edge X data acquisition system which monitors separated process streams and process temperature at critical points.

Well test separator
Expros horizontal well testing separator is designed to separate 3-phases of well effluent; measuring accurately the gas, oil, and water produced from the well. A 4th phase of separation can be integrated to the design for potential sand / solid removal.
The 4th phase process will help optimize the 3-phase capability by removing accumulated sands that will reduce the oil water retention time and reduce possible damage to the liquid flow meters and downstream equipment. The sand/solids removal is by a sparging line for lifting, agitating sand/solid and then flushing out via a drain line. The well test separator can be used in conventional well testing and integrated into an Expro flowback/clean-up package for new completions or stimulated wells. Expro well test separator has automated fisher type controls on gas pressure, gas/oil and oil/water interfaces, mounted on an oilfield structural steel skid with drip pan, crash frame and three-coat, offshore type paint system, rated for sour (H2S) service. The unit is fully manifolded for complete flexibility of operation, including bypassing and/or co-mingling oil, gas or water. The internals of the vessel include a highly effective wave and foam breakers.

Steam heater
The Expro steam heater offers a high-efficiency heat transfer with a small foot print. The steam heater is mounted on a sturdy, oilfield-type skid with a lifting/crash frame enclosure designed to DNV 2.7-3 and API-RP2A.
Heat transfer is accomplished by applying superheated steam directly to the high-pressure upstream pre-heat process tube bundle with a full opening two-inch adjustable choke separating the low-pressure downstream post-heat process tube bundle. The tubes are sealed in an American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) vessel set with automated steam process controls for both temperature and pressure control. Steam condensate is directed to a steam trap for recycling back to the steam generator. The steam heater comes with a high-pressure diverter (by-pass) manifold on the inlet to the outlet for bypassing the tube bundles. Safety systems in this type of heater include a relief-valve and rupture-disc located on the heater vessel, and a fail-safe temperature control device. A highpressure pilot monitoring the vessel pressure is available for interfacing with an Expro ESD system. The steam heater is built in accordance with Expro Equipment Sales Engineering Standards and Practices, which meets or exceeds most International standards and codes and is offered with third party Independent Design Review Certification and fabrication Certificate of Conformance.

MSRV
The MSRV is a rapid acting relief valve without the limitations of existing safety valves, allowing a greater flexibility in safety system design. In an over-pressure situation the MSRV will respond through utilization of its safety logic and protect the whole system.
Its ball valve design is hydraulically actuated by well pressure from primary sensor points. These points constantly monitor the process pressure, and when it exceeds a pre-determined value, the rupture disc inside the sensor point ruptures and the respective impulse line is energized thus opening the valve. Once actuated, the MSRV will remain open until pressure is applied to the respective closure. The MSRV is typically installed between the choke manifold and the heater. The purpose is to protect the heater tube bundle from over pressure if the upstream choke cuts out due to sand erosion etc. The MSRV has the following advantages over a conventional relief valve. High relief capacity Insensitive to system back pressure Positive acting with no simmering or chattering Accurate set point pressure Extreme high pressure integrity Four impulse port multi sensor facility Multi operable capability ESD control logic

ESD and control panel
The FAST ESD is an enhanced ESD control system that provides fast response with the reliability of pneumatic systems.
The system is designed to isolate the upstream pressure source (at either the surface test tree hydraulically actuated valve, or a hydraulic surface safety valve) before the well pressure rises above the set points of system relief valves. In a line rupture situation, the FAST system will isolate the well stream before any significant hydrocarbon releases have occurred thus reducing the possible injury to personnel in the test area, along with reducing the risk of fire or explosion and environmental hazards

Surge tank
The pressurized test tank is used to store produced liquids before they are disposed. It can also be used as an additional stage of separation.
The dual compartment surge tank allows for a hard piped vent to be run to a safe area. The tank operates with a back pressure controller in the gas line which allows the vessel to be used minimizing the danger of H2S contaminated gas venting off locally in the test area. Surge tank normally operates up to 50 PSIG pressure (available in higher pressure ranges) and is protected from gas blow-by from the separator oil line with a relief valve to prevent overpressure and possible rupture. The gas relieving capacity of a standard surge tank (fitted with pressure relief valve vent) is in the order of +/- 13 MMscf/d. The unit offers complete flexibility of operation, including bypassing and/or co- mingling oil, gas or water with inlet and outlet hammer union connections.

Desander system
The wellhead desander is an innovative product from Expro which enables the recovery of sand product from wellstreams during well testing, hydraulic fracturing well clean-up and coil tubing or Snubbing work over operations.
It can be utilized upstream of Expro choke manifold to reduce abrasive matter therefore optimizing the operability and prolonging the life of expro well testing equipment. It is well suited for high temperature and pressure conditions because of their rugged design and flexible components materials. The well fluids from a predominately gas flow with GOR > 10,000 cf/bb are routed from wellhead to the desander. The well effluent enters the desander vessel tangentially and the resulting centrifugal force exerted on the spinning fluid pushes the denser phase (sand) to the wall of the vessel. The clean well fluids at the core are forced up by pressure and out of the outlet pipework. The sand drops into the bottom of desander vessel due to gravity. The settled sand/solids can be periodically dumped to the clearing / disposal outlet pipework via Expro severe service Power Choke without shutting in the well at any period of the clean-up program. Process Description The modular, skid mounted desander comes complete with a process bypass line and a strong lifting and frame. The unit comprises pressurized cylinder vessel, manual or optional hydraulic isolating gate valves and a hydraulic PowerChoke along with instrumentation manifold which enables pressure monitoring, equalisation and bleed off of the desander. The hydraulic PowerChoke valve is operated by the control console provided with the system.

Features and benefits: Eliminates solids erosion on chokes, piping, valves and process equipment Provides solids removal prior to excessive oil contamination downstream eliminating
difficult solids accumulation problems

No moving parts, low maintenance, and low downtime result in significant capital
and operating cost savings

Compact design is 10% the size and weight of conventional filter systems easy
mobilization
