Montage Logos Brochure Event Ad Web Page Letterhead Business Card Flier

Montage
I made this montage in Photoshop to express myself through pictures and words. This montage is about letting go and loving life right now; we should live in the moment. I posted this montage on my blog on February 15 for my Comm 130 Visual Media class taught by Julie Peterson. My objective was to help people love life and to express my thoughts through both pictures and words. I chose a photo my mom took of me in California on the beach to use for this project. The other photo is from cgtextures.com. I rst applied the cloudy photo from cgtextures.com and then added the rst photo of me, the smaller image. I experimented with different tools in Photoshop and mainly used the brush tool to blend the two images together. I added the second image of me in the middle of the other layers and I was going to use that to replace the rst image of me. I liked how the larger image looked and noticed that because of the layering, the it looked like a shadow. I decided to leave it where it is and as the size it is. I blended that into the other layers. They I played around with they typography. I decided to emphasize the words waiting and dance by enlarging the size of the font. I decided to place the text around the larger image of me to create ow and gestalt.

Logos
These are logos I created in Illustrator to brand myself. I posted logos on my blog on February 22 for my Comm 130 Visual Media class taught by Julie Peterson. My objective was to brand myself and created a logo to use on a business card. I used Adobe Illustrator to create these logos. I used the text tool to create my name. I ungrouped the individual letters to move them around and make the letter K bigger. I used the shape tool to make the pencil.

Brochure
This is a brochure I created about a organization on campus called Student Support I posted this brochure on my blog on March 29 for my Comm 130 Visual Media class taught by Julie Peterson. My objective was to create a brochure to present to Student Support that maybe they can use. I made the logo in Adobe Illustrator. Then I placed that into this InDesign document I made. I created the inside rst with the different colored boxes. Then I added the typography going down the side. Next, I created the front cover by adding the typography and then duplicating the colored boxes. The nal step was to ll in the boxes with text and with photos. The photo in the SRC box is a text wrap that I rst started to create in Photoshop. I rst selected the girl and then saved that image. Then I inserted it into the InDesign document.

Event Ad
This is an event ad I created about an event that could possible happen on campus. I posted this event ad on February 1 for my Comm 130 Visual Media class taught by Julie Peterson. My objective was to create a poster that looks fun and could possible be around campus. I rst thought of a photo I could use. I wanted a photo that would help advertise a fun event. I chose to use a photo I took of a cupcake that I made with my roommates. I scanned the photo of the cupcake. Then I inserted the photo and deleted the background. I designed the rest of the ad. The original color scheme of my ad wasnt quite working so I thought more about it and decided to use these colors.

Come decorate cupcakes at the Crossroads Friday February 21 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. All proceeds go to the Homestead Assisted Living

Web Page
This is a web page I created about me and the logo I created. I posted this web page on March 15 for my Comm 130 Visual Media class taught by Julie Peterson. My objective was to use this logo that branded myself and then make my own web page. The process of this was quite extensive. First I learned html and then I also learned CSS in class to make the web page pretty. I inserted my logo into the web page and added a link along with a description.

Letterhead
This is a letterhead I created about me and another logo I created. I posted this web page on March 1 for my Comm 130 Visual Media class taught by Julie Peterson. My objective was to create another logo to brand myself and to make a letterhead for myself. I rst sketched some ideas for a new logo that is different that the logo project. Then I opened up Illustrator and started creating my logo. It took me a while to gure out how to create the half-circle like upward stroke. I rst tried to use the line tool but it wasnt giving me the shape that I wanted. I ended up using the brush tool. I used the line tool to create paths to type my rst and last name on. After we shared critiques in class, I thought about what else I could do to make my logo more exciting. I couldnt think of anything else and ran out of time. I thought about adding a gradient but wasnt sure how to add color to the gradient.

Flier
This is a ier I created for a leadership conference. I posted this ier on January 25 for my Comm 130 Visual Media class taught by Julie Peterson. My objective was to learn InDesign. I created sketches to bring my creativity to the forefront of my mine. I opened up an InDesign document and away I went. At class I participated in a group critique so once class was over, I changed my ier and xed some things on it.

Photo Design
This is an imaging project I created after taking this photo. I posted this web page on February 17 for my Comm 130 Visual Media class taught by Julie Peterson. My objective was to use this photo I took to create a motivational poster. I took this photo outside and then placed it in a document in Photoshop. Then I feathered out the edges of the photo using the brush tool. Then I played around with they typography and added the circles.
