Process: Starting with Adobe Illustrator, I used basic shapes and text to create the logo. This involved manipulating transparency, colors, and strokes. The text was then inserted and further manipulation was done until I was satisfied. Then, I took the logo and placed it in Adobe InDesign. Again, using basic shapes and text, I created the front side. For the back side, I made an alternate logo based off the original and placed it.

Learn to use Adobe Illustrator tools. Process: Using Adobe InDesign, I created these three designs: Top: I used two different font types, and a simple brush mark. Then, I augmented the text by manipulating anchor points of the different letters. Middle: Again, I used two different font types and this time changed the size of the O so it could serve as a focal point. Then, after using some basic shapes and the pen tool, I created the image inside. Bottom: The last logo design was made by using the image from the middle logo and the text from the first and making alterations to them using the same tools and methods.

Learn how to make a basic design in Microsoft Word, including image editing. Process: I took a photograph (4x6in) and scanned it into a computer. After inserting the scanned image into Microsoft word, I removed the background. I also inserted the logo artwork. Then, using basic shapes and text boxes, I laid out the rest of the advertisement. I used the shirt color for the color scheme.

Brochure
Description: A color duplex folded brochure for X-wings. Date: 28 March 2014 Course/Instructor: Comm 130-03 Cory Kerr Program(s)/Tools: Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop Objectives: Set up a duplex folding document and use text wrap and paragraph styles, using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop tools. Process: This brochure was created using Adobe InDesign software. To create it, I first created a simple layout for the brochure design, making a shape map and planning the folds. Then, I researched some for the text and gathered images. Using Adobe Photoshop, I clipped one of the images. Then, I created a digital layout of the design, using guides to help me position things accurately. After placing the image, text, and creating the logo, I printed a draft to test the layout. After finding where things werent lining up, or having spacing issues, I made adjustments. Then came the review. After getting feedback, I made a few last changes and then printed my final product, cut it, folded it and bam! X-wings are awesome.

Montage
Description: A full bleed color montage of three images and text Date: 15 February 2014 Course/Instructor: Comm 130-03 Cory Kerr Program(s)/Tools: Adobe Photoshop Objectives: Combine different images, using Adobe Photoshop to learn layers, masks, and filters. Process: First, I found the three images online and saved them at highest resolution. Then I opened the background one in Photoshop and inserted cut out portions of the other two images. Using masks, I gave the images a feathered edge. Then, I used different tools like replace color to change certain colors to give it a color theme and the stamp tool to remove distracting pieces. Finally, I inserted text, darkening it behind part of it to add a little emphasis, and called it done.

Process: First, I enlisted a friend to pose with the guitar. Then, after getting the lighting right, I worked with the focus. After the image was shot, I uploaded it to Adobe Photo Shop. Then, creating different layers, I adjusted the levels, vibrance, color, and sharpened parts of the image.

Process: I began with simple pen and paper sketches to get some ideas and get a feel for each design. After picking one, I used Adobe InDesign to make a draft. Shapes and text boxes were placed, making sure things were aligned. Using the text and images provided, I emphasized points I felt most relevant to the message through contrast and placement. After some critique from others, I made a few alterations.

Webpage
Description: A webpage designed to showcase a logo I created Date: 14 March 2014 Course/Instructor: Comm 130-03 Cory Kerr Program(s)/Tools: Notepad and an internet browser Objectives: Learn and use CSS and HTML to showcase a .png logo with a description of its creation and message. Process: First, using a text program I created a HTML program for the content and basic layout of the webpage. Then, I created a CSS file (basic CSS programing outline provided) using the same text program and linked it into the html. Within the CSS file, I added the hexadecimal values of the different colors in the logo for the various elements (border, background, body, and font) of the webpage. Then, I manipulated the various elements in the CSS program until there was good alignment, space, and shape.
