Welcome to Grade 9 Introduction to Information Technology here at Port Perry High School! BTT 101 teaches students how to use a variety of software programs such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Publisher, MS PowerPoint, Photoshop, Audacity and many others. Students will assess their interests, skills, and characteristics and also learn about designing webpages and developing promotional materials for a business of their choice. Post-secondary destinations in business will be discussed and students will have several opportunities to present their work to their peers. Students will also be able to enter their work in different competitions, competing against students from across Ontario. My background is in business. I have successfully run a hockey school for 15 years and currently do several power skating clinics each year. I have worked for the Durham District School Board for 24 years, at three different schools. I am confident that the experiences I bring to the classroom will be beneficial to us in this course.
