What is bone ossification test?

Ossification is the process of formation of new bone by cells calledosteoblasts. As per scientific evidence, by the age of 25 years nearly all bones are completely ossified in humans. Ossification test is a guess work based on the fusion of joints in the human body b/w birth and age 25. If all joints are fused the person must be of 25yrs age or older. As per experts that there can be an error of about 2 years in the age determined by the ossification test, but it is still more reliable than ascertaining the age on mere appearance basis. Iran aims to place its own satellites into orbit to monitor natural disasters in the earthquake-prone nation, improve telecommunications and expand military surveillance in the region. Rising CAD, a major concern: RBI January 31st, 2013 The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has stated that the increasing Current Account Deficit (CAD) has become a major obstacle in relaxing monetary policy. The CAD stood at a record high of 5.4% of GDP in the second quarter of 2012-13. The central bank stressed at the need of using expenditurereducing policies in addition to expenditure-switching policies to bring CAD down to a more sustainable level of around 2.5 per cent of GDP. The banks concerns about Inflation have not dissipated and it has indicated that growth in 2012-13 might fall below the Reserve BanksOctober 2012 projection of 5.8 per cent. RBI cuts repo rate and CRR, slashes growth forecast to 5.5% January 31st, 2013 The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) eased its tight monetary policy by slashing its key interest rates by 0.25% and released Rs 18,000 crore additional liquidity into the system to stimulate growth through reduced cost of borrowing. RBI cut the Repo Rate by 0.25% to 7.75% and Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) by similar margin to 4%. The cut in repo rate is expected to bring down the borrowing rates individuals and corporate. The slash in CRR, which is the portion of deposits that banks have to keep with RBI, would enhance the availability of funds. The RBI, however, has cut down the growth projections for the current financial year to 5.5% from its earlier estimate of 5.8%. Dutch banking and insurance group ING has decided to sell its 26% stake in an Indian insurance venture to local partner Exide Industries. ING is in the process of selling all its Asian insurance and investment management operations. Exide would acquire INGs 26 % percent in ING Vysya. It would also buy 24% from two other private Indian investors Enam Group and Hemendra Kothari Group for a total of about 5.5 billion rupees ($102 million). Within the period of a year, ING is second company to exit Indian insurance market after New York Life sold its 26% stake in a life insurance joint venture with Max India to Japans MS&AD for about $530 million. (ii) Whether Wal-mart undertook any activities in India in infringement of any Indian law. (iii) Any other matter relevant or incidental to the above. The Committee will deliver its report within 3 months. Wal-Mart has reportedly been lobbying with the US lawmakers since 2008 to facilitate its entry into the highly lucrative Indian supermarket. As per the lobbying disclosure reports filed by Walmart with the US Senate, the company has spent close to 25 million dollars (about Rs 125 crore) since 2008 on its various lobbying activities, including on the issues related to "enhanced market access for investment in India". Indias capital New Delhi has got rid of Leprosy as a public healthproblem, as the incidence rate of leprosy has declined from 4.5 cases per 10,000 of population in 2001 to 0.8 cases at present. As per WHO guidelines, when the number of leprosy patients gets reduced to below 1 case per 10,000 populations, the disease is considered to have been eliminated as a public health problem. Leprosy is a bacterial disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium leprae which affects mainly the skin and nerves. It takes 2 to 5 years for the symptoms to be visible as the disease progresses slowly. India to grow at 5.9% in 2013: IMF January 30th, 2013 As per the projections of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Indiaseconomy is expected to expand at the rate of 5.9% in 2013 and a higher growth of 6.4% in 2014 in line with the modest strengthening of global economic outlook. Panna Tiger Reserve of MP undergoes vulture population estimation January 30th, 2013 The Vulture Population Estimation-2013 has been concluded in thePanna Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh.Counting found 867 vultures including 160 migratory and 48 of unidentified origins. The number of vultures found this year is less compared to last year. The reason could be the sudden increase in temperature in the area during the estimation week. Seven out of nine vulture species in the Indian sub-continent were found in Panna. Another survey will be conducted in April-May 2013 to assess success rate of vulture breeding in Panna Tiger Reserve. Vulture Population Estimation Vulture Population Estimation is being conducted in Panna Tiger Reserve annually in January since 2010. Various species of vultures include Long Billed Vultures, White Backed Vultures, Egyptian Vultures and Red-headed Vultures. The legislation named Malala Yousufzai Scholarship Act is aimed at expanding scholarship opportunities for disadvantaged young women in Pakistan.
