Introduction
This seminar is part of the on-going industry efforts to raise the local practitioners awareness on the use of the Singapore Standard (SS) Structural Eurocodes. The SS Structural Eurocodes have been accepted in the Approved Document of the Building Control Regulations since 1 April 2013. At the end of the co-existence period of two years with the relevant existing SS based on British Standards, the SS Structural Eurocodes will be the only prescribed structural design standards from 1 April 2015. This seminar focuses on SS Eurocodes for design of bridges (SS EN 1991-2 and SS EN 1992-2). The seminar highlights the Singapore National Annexes on SS EN 19912 Traffic loads on bridges and SS EN 1992-2 Concrete Bridges Design and detailing rules and provides valuable insights into the practical implementation experience of the SS Eurocodes for Bridges covering the material and design aspects. Participants will also receive the latest update on the implementation of the SS Eurocodes in public projects. Participants will be briefed on the key Structural Eurocodes (SS EN 1991) that addresses comprehensive information and guidance on actions on structures that designers generally need to consider in the design of building and civil engineering structures. The SS EN 1991 series are applicable to design of concrete structures (SS EN 1992), steel structures (SS EN 1993) and composite steel and concrete structures (SS EN 1994).
