Week 2 - Unit 1 Phonics: Follow the teaching plan for Unit 1 in Synthetic Toolkit Book Spelling: Fill in the Blank Sentences pg 104 & 107, write words in alphabetical order. Week 3 - Unit 1 Phonics: Follow the teaching plan for Unit 1 in Synthetic Toolkit Book Spelling: Rainbow writing (vowels and consonants in different colours), dictionary definitions of selected words. Week 4 - Unit 2 Phonics: Follow the teaching plan for Unit 2 in Synthetic Toolkit Book Spelling: Use 3 & 4 phoneme frames for students to segment words into phonemes, replace one or more letters in list words to create a new word. Extension: find more words with (e_e or ie) spelling pattern/sound. Week 5 - Unit 2 Phonics: Follow the teaching plan for Unit 2 in Synthetic Toolkit Book Spelling: Fill in the Blank Sentences pg 104 & 107, write synonyms for list words. Extension: find more words with (ey) spelling pattern/sound. Week 6 - Unit 3 Phonics: Follow the teaching plan for Unit 3 in Synthetic Toolkit Book Spelling: Water or chalk writing (alternatively sand or magnetic letters), write words in alphabetical order. Week 7 - Unit 3 Phonics: Follow the teaching plan for Unit 3 in Synthetic Toolkit Book Spelling: Complete word search for list words, replace one or more letters in list words to create a new word. Week 8 - Unit 4 Phonics: Follow the teaching plan for Unit 4 in Synthetic Toolkit Book Spelling: Write words replacing vowels with a star then ask partner to decipher words, spell words in counters/sticks etc Week 9 - Unit 4 Phonics: Follow the teaching plan for Unit 4 in Synthetic Toolkit Book Spelling: Use 3 & 4 phoneme frames for students to segment words into phonemes, word shapes, water wall (paint spelling words on an outside wall in water trying to finish before it dries). Week 10 Revision Teacher to choose activities based on learning needs and teaching focus.
