Rev. Dr. Medad Birungi was represented by the WSM Communication Coordinator, Alfred Wasike. He thanked the Coordinator and the Management Committee for organizing the inaugural AGM. He also thanked God and the members for making time to come to the AGM. Referring to the AGM theme scripture, he (Alfred) called for unity inspite if the challenges facing WSM. He thanked God that Rev. Erone raised a God centred family based on Jesus and education that is raising money for the ministry of Gods word and meeting some of these challenges. He urged the AGM to encourage membership payments to help raise funds for Gods work. He reminded the AGM that Rev. Erone is a WSM Board Member so their concerns are handled at the highest level. The AGM was informed about the various missions planned for 2014. Some of these include the International Healing Conference set for Kampala in May 2014. We have plans to hold massive crusades and revival weeks in Uganda including in the Eastern and Northern Uganda. In the ofng, we also have revival weeks in East Africa and beyond to South Africa (code-named Elephant Stampede in East London), North America and Europe. He said that we shall need missioners from among the AGM for all these missions. The WSM Communication Coordinator took the AGM through the REVOLUTIONARY POWER OF FORGIVENESS, based on Matthew 18:21-35. He recalled that Eastern and Northern have gone through a very bloody past and so the paramount need for forgiveness to help cleanse these societies torn by hatred.

He gave them the example of Rev. Birungi who grew up under a cruel and drunken father who repeatedly beat up members of his household. Rev. Birungi grew up with intense bitterness and wanted to kill his father and other people. He even tried to kill himself. But he was overcome by revolutionary forgiveness and changed his mind and heart. He went back home and evangelised his people to salvation. Rev. Birungi wrote a landmark book called Tombstones and Banana Trees in which the story of revolutionary forgiveness is enshrined.
