Parameters Syntax

Parameter explanations

disk
This parameter identifies the disk. You can give it the following values in the hard disk system: WS F0 F1 hard disk functioning as a system disk (SYSTEM DISK) removable disk (FLOPPY DISK OR OTHER REMOVABLE MEDIA DRIVE) removable disk (FLOPPY DISK OR OTHER REMOVABLE MEDIA DRIVE)

The default value is the hard disk functioning as a system disk (WS).

default subdir in use

This parameter specifies whether the default subdirectory is used. You can give it the following values:

NODEF DEF

default subdirectory is not used (DEFAULT SUBDIR NOT USED) default subdirectory is used (DEFAULT SUBDIR USED)

The default value is that the default subdirectory is used (DEF).

subdir
This parameter specifies the path to the subdirectory. If the default subdirectory is used, the path can contain a maximum of two subdirectory subdir names. If the default subdirectory is not used, the path can contain a maximum of three subdirectory subdir names. In this case, the path is absolute and begins from the root of the disk. When the default subdirectory is used, the path begins from there. The length of a subdirectory name may be 1-11 characters, and the names are separated by a comma. If the path is not supplied, disk operations are directed either to the root directory (default directory not used) or to the default directory. By default, a subdirectory is not used. The path must not contain BLCODE, LFILES, ASWDIR or OLDSYS directories. The MMDIRE is only allowed if it is the last directory in the path.

file name
This is the name of the file to be edited. The file name is an identifier with 1 - 11 characters. The first character is alphabetical, the rest are alphanumeric. File names starting with "MEN" or "MAI", or those with the extension "MIF", are not allowed. Moreover, the file names in which the fifth character is a digit and the extension is "EMM" are also forbidden, except if the seventh character is a C (customer's own MML macros). This parameter is obligatory.

file name extension

The file name extension is an identifier consisting of 0 - 4 characters. Its first character is alphabetic, and the rest are alphanumeric. Extensions MML, MTF, MCO, IMG and DIR are not allowed. In addition to these, extensions MIF and EMM are prohibited for certain file names.

On exiting the editor, the following message is output:

SAVE CHANGES TO FILE? CONFIRM COMMAND EXECUTION: Y/N ?

If problems occur while saving the file, the following message is output:
SAVING ERROR! TRY AGAIN?

Semantic error messages

/*** SUBDIRECTORY NAME IS NOT ALLOWED ***/

The path supplied is prohibited.

/*** FILE NAME OR NAME EXTENSION IS NOT ALLOWED ***/
