The museums permanent exhibit takes you through Nevada's geology, fossil and desert wildlife, as well as mining and railroad history. One section of note covers the Great Basin Indians (the desert covering central and Northern Nevada, and parts of Utah, California, Oregon and Wyoming) from dusk to dawn. It features low level dusk-like lighting and the sounds of desert animals (as well as specimens) like the great horned owl, cougar and Mojave rattlesnake to set the mood. It's a whole new level of Vegas nightlife! NOTES: Admission to the Nevada State Museum is included with paid admission to the Springs Preserve.

Field Trips 1. Explain which field trip you are most excited about.
I am the most excited about the Nevada State Museum because the students can learn many new things about the state of Nevada, which can be connected to other things we will be learning. Also, students will be able to observe some science as well when viewing the skeletal replica of Nevada's state fossil, the ichthyosaur. They can also view real fossil bones and take a closer peek at other fossil findings with a magnifying glass.
2. What challenges did you run into during this assignment? The only challenge that I ran into while writing this assignment was thinking about Virtual Field Trips for the younger kinds (K-2). I was not sure how the virtual field trips would work with the younger kids since some of them cant even write their name let alone use technological devices.
