Gudgeon pin
Engine type General This bulletin concerns WRTSIL Vasa 32, 32LN, WRTSIL 32, 32GD, 32LNGD, 32DF, 34SG and 34DF engines. The piston gudgeon pin is sealed in both ends with a shrink-fitted steel plug. If the plug for some reason moves outwards or inwards, it may disturb the lubricating oil flow to the piston. At every piston overhaul, check (using e.g. a steel ruler or straight edge) that the plug is flush with the end of the gudgeon pin as shown in the illustrations below. The tolerance for the plug position is +0,1 mm (outwards) and -0,3 mm (inwards). If the plug has moved, the gudgeon pin must be replaced. Do not attempt to re-position the plug. 1. Gudgeon pin diameter 135 mm: Note! Flush with the 1 mm recess.
