LAST WEEKS HIGHLIGHTS @ Portland (4/9): Goaltender Patrik Bartosak earned his first professional shutout with 29 saves in the Manchester Monarchs 5-0 victory over the Portland Pirates at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Wednesday night. Forward Michael Mersch recorded his first two professional goals and right wings Brian ONeill, Scott Sabourin, and Steve Quailer each added tallies for the Monarchs. Bartosak (3-1-0) took his third win of the season, stopping 29-of-29 shots. Pirates netminder Louis Domingue (9-15-2) took his 15th loss of the season with 23 saves on 28 shots. Manchester was 1-for-6 on the power play. Portland went 0-for-5 with the man advantage. vs. Portland (4/12): Center Linden Vey scored two goals to help the Manchester Monarchs shutout the Portland Pirates, 4-0, clinching their third Atlantic Division title in the teams 13-year history at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday night. Defenseman Brayden McNabb and center Jordan Weal each joined Vey on the scoreboard with one goal. Monarchs goaltender J.F. Berube (27-16-2) earned his 27th win and third shutout of the season, stopping 23-of-23 shots. Pirates netminder Louis Domingue (9-17-2) took his 17th loss of the season, making 35 saves on 39 shots he faced in the game. Manchester was 3-for-7 on the power play. Portland went 0-for-4 with the man advantage. @ Providence (4/13): The Manchester Monarchs clinched their second Eastern Conference title in their 13-year history, registering their fifth consecutive win after defeating the Providence Bruins, 3-2, at the Dunkin Donuts Center on Sunday afternoon. Left wing Andy Andreoff, right wing Scott Sabourin, and defenseman Jeff Schultz each scored one goal for the Monarchs. Right wings Alexander Fallstrom and Nick Johnson both tallied for the Bruins. Monarchs netminder J.F. Berube (28-16-2) earned his 28th win of the season, stopping 18of-20 shots. Bruins netminder Malcolm Subban (15-9-5) took his ninth loss of the season, making 24 saves on 27 shots he faced in the game. Manchester was 1-for-3 on the power play. Providence went 0-for-1 with the man advantage.

MONARCHS NEWS & NOTES The Manchester Monarchs (48-19-2-6) are ranked first in the Atlantic Division with 104 points. The St. Johns IceCaps (44-23-2-5) rank second in the division with 95 points. The Providence Bruins (39-24-2-9) sit in third place in the Atlantic Division with 89 points. The Worcester Sharks (35-33-4-2) are ranked fourth in the Atlantic Division with 76 points. The Portland Pirates (24-38-3-9) sit in fifth place in the division with 60 points. Manchester clinched the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference titles with wins over Portland on Saturday and Providence Sunday, respectively. The Monarchs rank 21st in the American Hockey League on the power play with 50 goals on 311 attempts. Manchester is ranked 19th in the league on the penalty kill stopping their opponent 260-of-319 times. The Monarchs have had the most success on Saturdays (20-6-0-1). The Monarchs were undefeated (6-0-0-0) at home in the month of March. Manchester is currently on a five-game winning streak (5-0-0-0). Center Jordan Weal (23-47=70) leads the Monarchs with 47 assists and 70 points. Weal is tied for fourth place in the AHL with 47 assists. Weal is tied for third place in the AHL with 70 points. Vey ranks second on the Monarchs with 48 points. Vey ranks second on the team with 34 assists. Vey has also collected five assists in 18 games with the Los Angeles Kings this season. He was recalled to Los Angeles on Thursday, April 3. ONeill ranks third on the Monarchs with 47 points. ONeill leads the team with 26 goals this season. ONeill registered his first two professional hat tricks in consecutive weekends, collecting three goals in both the Monarchs 4-2 win over the Adirondack Phantoms on Friday, March 7 and in a 7-0 victory over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Friday, March 14. Shore, left wing Andy Andreoff (11-24=35), and defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk (8-24=32) are tied for fourth place on the team with 24 assists. Defenseman Brayden McNabb (10-26=36) is ranked fifth on the Monarchs with 36 points. McNabbs 26 assists are third on the team. Andreoff is ranked sixth on the Monarchs with 35 points. Andreoff leads the Monarchs with 131 penalty minutes. Bodnarchuk and left wing Tanner Pearson (17-15=32) are tied for seventh place on the Monarchs with 32 points each. Bodnarchuk leads the Monarchs and the AHL with a plus/minus rating of plus-43. Pearson ranks third on the team with 17 goals this season. Pearson has recorded three goals and four assists for seven points in 25 games with the Kings this season. He was recalled to Los Angeles on Tuesday, February 18. OBrien ranks ninth on the Monarchs with 29 points this season. OBrien recorded his first four-point game of the season, collecting two goals and two assists against Bridgeport on Friday, March 14. Right wings Sean Backman (10-16=26) and Scott Sabourin (12-14=26) are tied for 10th place on the Monarchs with 26 points each. Sabourin ranks second on the team with 115 penalty minutes. Toffoli ranks 12th on the team with 23 points. Toffoli has 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 points in 62 games with the Kings. He was recalled to Los Angeles on Tuesday, February 18. Right wing James Livingston (7-15=22) is 13th on the Monarchs with 22 points this season. Defenseman Vincent LoVerde (2-18=20) is ranked 14th on the team with 20 points. LoVerde ranks second on the Monarchs and third in the AHL with a plus-37 rating. Defenseman Andrew Campbell (3-12=15) is the all-time games played leader in Monarchs history with 413 games played. He is the only player in franchise history to play in at least 400 games.

MONARCHS NEWS & NOTES (CONTINUED) Campbell was named the teams winner of the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year award on Wednesday, April 2. Campbell is now one of 30 finalists for the AHLs 2013-14 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, honoring the overall IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year. Campbell was recalled by the Kings for the first time on Saturday, April 5. He made his National Hockey League debut with Los Angeles on Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks. He played in three games with the Kings before being reassigned to Manchester on April 13. Center Colin Fraser (3-2=5) made his Monarchs debut against the Falcons on Friday, February 21. The veteran forward has played in 358 NHL games with the Kings, Edmonton Oilers, and Chicago Blackhawks, and has two Stanley Cup championships on his resume. Fraser scored his first goal in a Monarchs uniform in a 5-4 victory over the Pirates on Saturday, February 22. The last AHL goal he scored was for the Rockford IceHogs when he collected a goal and two assists in the teams 5-3 win over the Iowa Stars on April 13, 2008. Goaltender Martin Jones made his NHL debut with the Kings against the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday, December 3. He backstopped the Kings to a 3-2 shootout victory, including going 9-for-9 in the shootout. Jones picked up his first NHL shutout by stopping all 16 shots he faced in the Kings 3-0 victory over the New York Islanders on Saturday, December 7. The rookie netminder then stopped all 31 shots he faced in the Kings 6-0 shutout of the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday, December 10. In 19 games with the Kings, Jones has collected a record of 12-6-0, a .934 save percentage, a 1.81 goals-against-average, and four shutouts. He was recalled to Los Angeles on Monday, February 24. Jones eight wins tied the NHL record for consecutive winning games to start an NHL career with netminder Bob Froese who won his first eight games with the Philadelphia Flyers during the 1982-83 season. Jones is the first goaltender in NHL history to allow an average of less than one goal per game while winning the first eight appearances of his career. Jones is the third goaltender in NHL history to record three shutouts in his first six starts. Goaltender Flat Walsh accomplished the feat with the New York Americans during the 1928-29 season and netminder Frank Brimsek did it with the Boston Bruins during the 1938-39 season. Jones has an overall record of 16-3-3 with a 2.13 goals-against-average, a .928 save percentage, and two shutouts in 22 games with the Monarchs this season. Berube set a franchise record for consecutive appearances by a goaltender with 20 games on December 29. His current record-setting streak sits at 24 consecutive games. He surpassed the feat of 19 games set by netminders Travis Scott from February 19 March 22, 2003, and Jason LaBarbera from November 19 December 29, 2006. Berube has collected a 28-16-2 record with a 2.38 goals-against-average and a .913 save percentage and three shutouts in 47 games with the Monarchs this season. Berube is ranked fifth in the AHL with 2726:41:00 minutes played, second with 28 wins, and 10th with a 2.38 goals-against-average this season. Berube recorded his first AHL shutout by stopping all 28 shots he faced in the Monarchs 6-0 win over the IceCaps on Saturday, January 18. He recorded his second shutout by stopping all 23 shots he faced the 7-0 victory over Bridgeport on Friday, March 14. Berube was recalled by the Kings for the first time on February 7. He was reassigned to Manchester on Monday, February 24. Goaltender Patrik Bartosak made his AHL debut in relief duty against Portland on Saturday, March 29. In four games, he has collected a 3-1-0 record, a 1.75 goals-against-average, a .941 save percentage and one shutout. Bartosak earned his first shutout stopping all 29 shots he faced in the Monarchs 5-0 win over the Pirates on Wednesday night.
