Prologue:

It is said that one should never begin a story with once upon a time, or long, long ago. This story however will start with both. Once upon a time, long, long ago there was a catastrophic battle between an evil god, and a righteous goddess. The war waged for thousands of years and although the goddess fought with all her might, she was defeated. However a god can never truly die, and so with her last bit of power she created eight beings spawned in her image. Blessed with eternal youth and beauty each one of them had some of the goddesses power, each one had the potential to resurrect the sleeping goddess. These beings later became nown as !lins, and although the goddess did her best to hide their presence from the evil god, all but one of them were illed.

The last !lin, thought to have been dead by all, was separated from her in and became entranced by an evil witch who plotted to steal the !lins youth and beauty. The witch cast a spell on the !lin that rendered her in a deep coma, the witch tried for many years to devise a spell to sap the !lins power, but the goddesses protection was too strong, and the witch failed. Hundreds of years passed and the witch has long since perished, but the !lin still slumbers, lost and forgotten from the entire world until one day"

& symphonic voice, pure and harmonious echoed into the dar ness. Only a few scarce splashes of light pierced through the dense forest. )ilently resting among a bed of white lily(s was the last !lin. Her hair was a rich gold that shimmered faintly as the few beams of light shined upon her. Her s in despite being mostly hidden from the sun for hundreds of years still permeated a subtle pale glow. )he was small in stature, no more the si*e of a teenage girl, but it was none the less evident that she was made in the image of a goddess. The voice seemed to breach the !lins slumber and her fo+li e furry ears began to twitch.

,a e up...there is much to be done...

& single butterfly, wings a splendid mi+ture of violet and blue gently landed upon the !lins petite nose. The butterfly rested still for a moment until the !lins nose moved ever so slightly. The butterfly fluttered its wings and the !lin began to stir further. The !lins ears -er ed, her feet shifted, her eyelids began to slowly peel open. The butterfly became still once more as the !lins own brilliant violet eyes loo ed into the world once more for the first time in hundreds of years. )he remained still at first, slowly blin ing as her eyes ad-usted to the light. The butterfly continued to remain perched upon the tip of her nose. !ver slowly the !lin raised her head, her torso following suit, every movement felt foreign after not having moved in such a long span of time. Her legs crossed over one another as she raised her upper body further until her bac was straight. )he tilted her head left and right, surveying her surroundings, still in a dreary state. It appeared she didn(t even notice the butterfly until it fluttered once more. Her eyes slowly focused onto the delicate creature and instinctively she raised a finger to her nose. The butterfly responded by shifting positions from the !lins nose to her finger. )he loo ed at it for a moment as she rose to her feet. The movement however startled the butterfly and it flew off into the forest, leaving the !lin alone once more.

& blan stare rested across the !lins face, her mind still felt ha*y, her body lethargic. )he loo ed down at herself as she outstretched her arms and rotated her palms. )he was dressed in pearl white cloth that covered her torso and thighs tightly. & crystal blue brooch clasped at her chest that connected two strips of fabric which draped down and over her bac and along the side of her legs. )he appeared -ust as she remembered she did, nothing felt out of the ordinary, but she didn(t now where she was, or who she was, or what she was to do. )he felt as if she were simply e+periencing a lucid dream.

.ind me...'ou must"

The voice echoed into her mind once more, she loo ed around, but nobody was to be seen.

/,here are you0/ The words slowly poured from her mouth, she spo e in a soft, delicate tone. )he continued to loo about as she stood amongst the white lily(s in her white garments, the sun managing to shine ever more upon her, a distinct angelic loo surrounded her.

/How do I find you0/ )he too a few steps forward, unsure of which direction to go.

/Hello0/ )he patiently awaited an answer from the serene voice, but she was met only with the subtle sigh of the wind which caused her dress to gently sway. )he too a few more steps with the wind and as she did the wind felt stronger, as if it were pulling her. Her pace began to 1uic en, her body feeling re-uvenated by the winds force. Her steps turned into strides as she arched her body forward and allowed the wind to guide her. Instinctively her arms raised and e+tended out at her sides, a small smile emerged upon her face, as if she had remembered something, felt something she hadn(t felt, in a long time.

)he moved at a speed that was unli e anything a human could match, her hair flowed streamline behind her as she dashed through the forest, her bangs which hung -ust above her eyebrows managed to stay perfectly in place.

/I(ll find you"/ )he spo e softly as she continued her effortless sprint.

/I(ll find you2/ & sudden burst of energy flooded into her as she found herself shouting as loud as she could. )tartled by her own newfound vigor she abruptly stopped her dash, ic ing up a flurry of leaves and twigs in the process. The wind died down, and suddenly she felt very lost.

/,here am I"0/ )he wondered aloud to herself. Before she had time to ponder upon her own 1uestion a piercing screech bro e the silence. The wind pic ed up again, but this time it felt unnatural, it felt forced and unbalanced. It came in great heaving gusts, one after another, in a rhythmic pulse. & flood of leaves and debris began to ic up and fly past the !lin who turned away, eyes closed, and hands raised to protect her face.

.or one long moment their was silence again and the forest was very still. The !lin lowered her hands and turned towards where all the noise had come from. It was at this moment her fo+ tail began to -er left and right. #onfused the !lin loo ed behind her bac , as if she had forgotten she ever had a tail. It was half the length of one of her legs, and fluffy li e that of a wolf.

/Huh0/ )he uttered confused as her tail continued to -er from side to side without her reali*ing.

Before she had more time to dwell upon her newfound tail a massive crash -olted the forest. & great number of trees crashed down splintered and bro en as a giant butterfly emerged shrie ing as it violently flapped its huge blac wings. The monstrous insect was over a do*en times the !lins si*e and it was now charging towards her, unnatural fangs gaping and dripping with oo*e. The !lin 1uic ly reacted and leapt to her side, -ust avoiding the giant butterflies charge. It was not long however before the butterfly turned itself around and prepared for another charge at the !lin. The !lin frantically loo ed about her surroundings, unsure of what to do ne+t but nowing she had to thin 1uic ly.

/Help22/ )he yelled as she began to sprints towards the opening in the forest the giant butterfly had made when it first appeared.

/)omeone help me22/ )he dashed for the opening at an incredible speed, but the butterfly was close behind, screeching, and bounding straight for her.
