Draw the corresponding input-output wave shape. %ote the distortion occurs at the output. =.Disconnect the 9umper from across D!. *otate !( pot to fully ccw position. #easure collector current through 3 . ;. *otate the !( pot to cw until you obtain ma/imum undistorted output. *ecord the output waveform along with input. *E&$*T> (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) ?hat are the 3-points of the amplifier in two different condition -with and without 9umper@ ?hat do they signify@ 4ive the reasons behind the crossover distortion you observe in the output of such complimentary power amplifier. An this e/periment what is the trade to reduce nonlinear distortion@ 4ive some practical e/ample where such complimentary power amplifier is re:uired.

PART B) !. 0onstruct the circuit as shown in the figure for part B. 'et !( pot such that cw rotation produces ma/imum signal output. %ote that symbol for D! has been changed to indicate that

it is a stabistor. 'tabistor is actually two diodes in series that specially design for the stabilization of this circuit. . #ake !( pot in full ccw rotation. 8d9ust power supply to 1!= 2olt and signal generator to !(5z fre:uency. .. *otate !( pot cw until output waveform 9ust starts to flatten either on the top or the bottom. *ecord the peak-to-peak voltage and therefore output power (&outCErms D*load). +. *epeat step E . e/cept that power supply is only 1!" 2olt. =. *otate !( pot fully ccw position. *emove the load ( no. of !"" in parallel) and connect a loudspeaker with a ".!f capacitor across it. ;. 8d9ust the power supply to 1!= 2olt. 0onnect the oscilloscope lead to the output. Every time make sure that at least half of the waveform (1ve or -ve) can be displayed. ,. 8d9ust !( pot to a F$? comfortable listening level. *epeatedly connect and then disconnect a 9umper across the diode D! while looking at the oscilloscope and listening to the signal. %ote the level of distortion keeping the wire disconnected. -. *otate !( pot in cw to make a 5A45 listening level. &erform step , once again.
